'tis all in the mind indeed.
The way you used mood and thoughfulness in this piece is terrific. If feels rather like a descriptions of thoughts and feelings, rather than a plot, but rarely can someone create a plot out of thoughts as you have. 
Well done. Much to think about.

Good stuff! 
Very stylish and evocative writing. Probably not my cup of tea in large doses, but a great effort at some serious prose.

You paint a good picture. For some reason your perfect people reminded me of some paintings they were showing on tv last night. Jack Vettriano's they were - just found them on google.
