"If your Guide Entry doesn't meet our guidelines, choose Alternative Writing Workshop"
This actually DOES meet the guidelines, and it's been in Peer Review and been picked... so why is it here?
I've been specifically told (by Natalie, no less) that even though it meets the guidelines, doesn't break rules, got positive comments in Peer Review and has been picked, it won't be going in the Edited Guide. Make of that what you will.
So, I'm left with no alternative, but the Alternative WW.
So here it is.
Whaddya think?

About the situation, or the entry?
Actually, I take an evil delight in both, but you knew that already!

I find it sad that this had to go through the AWW...
I do like it I'm curious what the rest of the miners think

Well, I am looking at Camcorder Magazines and thinking "if its resolution is so bloody good, all you will see is cellulite!"

Hi FB,
I have followed the hoo-hah surrounding the peregrinations of this rather well written, informative little entry. I like both the practical advice and personal touches you have provided.
I haven't been involved in the debate over what happened, how, why, by whom, with what justification and what the implications are for the site as a whole. I don't really go in much for politics at the best of times, but for whatever reason, i've not been there.
Indeed, i hesitate to say it, but i wonder what this version's presence in the AWW really means... Is it a 'test' of some sort? A request for feedback that may or may not strengthen your case for inclusion?
or just an uncontrollable urge to 'drop it in and see what happens?'
Well, fwiw, I've said what i think of it's merits above... one minor niggle (and this is only in 'PR' terms) is the title. Silly, i know, cos originally i think it had a much more appropriate title that has changed for reasons of expediencey.
anyway, in the AWW you can call it what you like, so whatever.
nope, can't really knock this one,
You do like to get that oar in, don't you?

Look I have said this half a dozen times already but I will say it again. The entry in its current form is no more suggestive than a carry on film, the type that are often shown before the watershed on BBC televsion.
I simply cannot understand at all why the version in its current form in any way is not acceptable.
This question is for the editors:-
WHY IS THIS VERSION NOT FIT FOR THE GUIDE?

Ferret- the editors probably aren't going to answer from this thread
The most useful thing you can do in the AWW is to comment on the entry, not the situation

Excellent piece
IMO this is not at all suggestive or inappropriate. If you wind back your brain and memory to a point in time before you became aware of the possibilities of inserting tab A into slot B (or C etc.), then this entry just becomes a slightly odd description of making home-movies, like videoing cousin E's birthday party.
One typo at the very, very end. "... video stars would have get proper jobs!" - there's a "to" missing.

Wonder why we never did anything with this?
This was a fun re-read.
Any miners feel like a boundary pushing exercise in the next round?

Crikey...
I didn't realise this one was actually still kicking aorund onsite. I wonder if it would get through "peer review" again now? .
Mayby EP have changed their stance.

Not likely, I think. They're more nervous than every about these things.
Plus, since Hoo's been suspended/banned/whatever it wouldn't be much fun

Absolutely scandalous!!! Scandalous that something THIS good isn't considered 'fit' for inclusion. Lord knows I could have used some of this very advice myself when filming 'documentaries' back in the day (though a gentleman never tells ).
One bit of advice that I found missing is this. If you have tapes featuring different "actresses", make quadrupley sure you know which is which as this could result in even greater embarassment than you could imagine (along with the immediate cession of all further "activities")
Volunteers you say? I'm at you service (no pun intended), the line stars here!
