Thanks Ben, you are a really cool top totty! Hypatia's news caused a couple of leaky 'if only' and 'what if?' face moments but hey that's life and no one said (apart from the parents and Hans Christian Anderson) that life was a 'happy ever after' scenario ...off to the tit clinic tomorrow...great! first 'you are now fifty' call and I get a recall to second stage...amazing timing eh what? Wish me luck. Not scared, just resigned...when shit happens thank god it's in the monsoon season!

Hi, Boots. I was lurking then the computer decided not to play anymore . Then I logged back in elsewhere to do some editing. I'm fine apart from work, which I'm beginning to get a handle on. How are you doing? And are you ready for the weekend, and Corfu?

Next weekend is the 'off to do flowers for the seriously posh peeps' gig with Angela. Overnighting in Wales... more posh flowers...we have to do lunch, dinner, breakfast and lunch for sixty with flowers for each sitting! Knackered drive back on the Sunday (no doubt van WILL break down!) then fly out to Corfu Monday. I'm ready for it.
Have truckloads to put to bed before that and am supposed to be 'guest' at wedding this saturday...head in a bit of a cocoa spin...heart sore.
Someone told me it got worse, I didn't believe them, they were right.
Arse!

Hi You sless hoond,
Just tipped up to say 'Jolly dee good show' on your little no-tisse.
captures a style nicely and remains parody without going 'O The proverbial T'.
Just what an isolated ex-pat wants to be reading on a hot day in the Strasbourg canicule. Ta, and keep on truckin' (or, as it appears from a briefly skimmed Percy Page, "vannin'", )

Hiya Spiff! You were one of the first people to welcome me to site...don't s'pose you remember. In the days when you were just back from blighty! You and Sir Boss Pin and Shazz if memory serves me right. Think you even pointed me in the direction of AWW or was it CAC?
Good to hear from you.
Hmmm (cross face smile) Entry on Corfu eh? Well b****r that what in Henry's name am I going to write about when I get back?...orienteering in olive groves? Great.
You just can't get the staff these days. I've just popped out to see how they are coping and find that I have an order clip full of bouquets awaiting my attention, three more contracts have mysteriously materialised and the prolls are clamouring for the dreaded garage wraps...hey ho...back to the bench.

Found a seam of stuff I've not read before. Didn't expect to find any of yours among them though. Oh happy happy me.
I liked the ironic 'view from above', witty as always, and sharp with it.
There were a few places that I didn't believe in the voice though. Like:
'Handbags were the ‘must have’ accessory, dinky little boxy numbers in floral prints, barely capable of holding a credit card let alone a lipstick, but perfectly matched to the hats.'
I can't 'hear' this line as conversation, it is too narrative.
The character, isn't she a mare and a really good antagonist. This is a good example of a piece where a less steriotyped character would be a bad thing. Clever of you to camp it up with her.
Well done on the intrepid rambling too.
