This needs very little to make it a perfectly respectable entry for the UG, and imo, very little more than that to make it suitable for the EG if it could win the eye of a Scout.
I don't live in the US, but I have lived in small places in the UK, and I recognised a lot in the entry. It even made me smile. (But then, being a hick from the sticks I am likely to laugh at the simplest of jokes).
It seems that theannualgiftman has not been back. Elvis rather than Arnie, I guess. Pity.

Hey Ben,
As it stands, I think this is borderline between here and the Flea Market... I'd like to know exactly *where* the setting is, for example. Bit difficult to find out now.
Listen, when things are more underway with the Underguide, you may find Entries end up in the AWW (or Alternative Peer Review or whatever it's called) that end up being long abandoned. You'll need a clear out every so often, which I can help you with. One for this of things to do.

Yes, if authors don't make the changes, there is not much we can do about it.
*looks around guiltily, aware that her entries on Hamburg and Sweden have been abandoned for more than 2 months*
We are almost certain to get back to you about clearing out the AWW. At the moment the suggestion up for debate is that works in progress are switched to the WW, on the basis that PR is for the EG, and the AWW/APR will be for the UG but entries in the WW could end up anywhere.
This one for example could go either way, with not much effort by the author. Imho this one isn't quite worth someone taking it on and rewriting it as a co-written entry, but if the original author was to tweak it, it could be up to the appropriate standard.
We'll get back when we have some more solid suggestions about the AWW. (This isn't the thread to ask this question, but I am here and typing, so I will ask it anyway - Can we re-draft the AWW page and let you have a copy of our suggested text for consideration? Early early days, but it would be good to know if you would consider thinking about a possiblility of perhaps changing the text of the AWW page itself. (Is that vague enough for the -herding situation that the UG is in at the moment? ) Consider your response a nudge to the pin-ball. At the present rate of progress the redraft will be this year, next year, sometime, whenever!)
All the best

> One for this of things to do.
What am I talking about? That should have been 'One for the list of things to do'.
Ahem. Yes, sure I can replace the text in on the AWW page. I wouldn't say no to a little bit of discussion beforehand, though actually, I can't think of anything that I wouldn't agree with as this isn't to do with the Edited Guide. So long as it's clear and well written - oh and short(ish) otherwise people probably won't read it. That would be my brief.

Hiya,
returning to the anonymous and petite town, i agree that this entry has some style to it, but as was mentioned on its tour of PR, it has a parochial feel to it that seems to contradict the 'general' aspect...
does that make sense?
It could go either way; visiting 'x' - or visiting a small town in 'y'
or just 'Things about small towns'; though even then i think you need some indication of 'where in the world'
just my thoughts

This entry does remind me of Ohio in a few ways. Not the cow and farmer one, because I don't live in a farm area, but I've heard a few of them
Well it was interesting

It doesn't look like you're still around, annualgiftman, but this has been noticed and I'd like to use it for an issue of the CAC-Continuum, which is an effort to promote pieces like yours. You can see the issue in progress at A2201897
If you have some objections, holler at me and I'll try to resolve it.

This got CACed and it's not up to UG standards.
Suggesting a move.
