A bit of BBS wit for you. It's theme may seem a touch familiar. Just read it and weep (with tears of laughter)!

Made me smile, though not the funniest thing I've read here. It felt like there was a touch of bitterness through this entry: have you been hurt by Mr. Lurman? smiley - winkeye

Well there's too possibilities there ...

1) my warped sense of humour contains bitterness. I don't think so, as it mainly contains cynicism and sarcasm. I reread it with fresh eyes and could only see 1 or 2 points out of 20+ that might be deemed bitter
2) perhaps your projecting your own feelings into this work ...

I like this one. HAs a kind of bittersweet air to it.

Lucinda, projecting? Surely not! smiley - winkeye

I like this too, and the only advice I would give is to reiterate the suggestion to change the title. "Advice for the 21st Century"? "Advice for Freshmen in the 21st Century"? "An e-mail from Lord Chesterfield's great-great grandson"?

As already indicated, the title does not do justice to the piece.
