If you care, the piece is what happened when I tried to combine my real grief experiences, some research, and a premise that resulted from the requirements for an ethics term paper (my having to have 'dialogue' with philosophers..thus the drug trip). Please tell me what you think, and you don't have to withhold cruelty just because my husband blew his head off. Words always win over no words with me *hopeful smile*

Hi Nyssabird
It can be awful to have your words vanish like that, and even more so when they are clearly deeply personal and about something so central to your life.
As soon as you get past the standard emails and start talking to the Italics direct, you will find them helpful and sensitive. Try dropping a line in Peta's personal space.
I look forward to this entry coming back. From what you have said, it tells a tale that needs to be told.
Please don't be disheartened. This is not personal to you or your story. This is the BBC and the UK. There is no First Ammendment here....
Good luck, and be of good heart.

Just remove the link and you'll be alright.

Mmmm. Apparently not. Mind you it is a little early in the UK, yet.

This is beautifully written and very moving. Seeing that it comes from personal experience makes it much more so. Thankyou Nyssabird for putting it up here and thankyou too for writing the philosophy in such a way that I could follow it.
Potential Underguide prospector's opinion; this is just the sort of piece that makes an Underguide essential,

Aw..thank you, I had nearly forgotten I had put it here. . The only problem I really have with it is that since it *was* for a philosophy assignment that the happy (?) ending was a little contrived..but it's an obvious work of fiction anyway. If you'd like to read a more literal version of that part of my life, let me know
.
Thank you again for bothering to read it!

As a story I thought it all fit together well. It was certyainly not a bother to read. I am glad I read it.
I would be interested to read a more literal version.
I saw your announcement by the way - I'm pleased that things have changed for you .

This is an incredible entry
I normally don't read something this long without a fight, but this was easy to read
Thank you for writing this.

Very deep (particularly the talking fish whilst in her poor state).
I don't think I can really add anything that anyone hasn't already said. Not and do it justice.
It is an excellent piece, and I think as my fellow miner, Waz, up there said, it would be very welcome in the UnderGuide

I don't recall who asked, but that's a more 'literal' version of what happened. Literal, in that it's all true, though from the obviously skewed angles of my perceptions. .

Oh dear, that was difficult to read. But ignoring the guilt for a moment...
I think that it is very good (but you know that, surely). Not much in the way of criticism but for what it's worth; I could have done with some signifiers for who was talking in the Hume/goldfish section. The ending felt a bit forced and too simple.
I particularly like that the weighting of story and philosophy is so in balance. The flow of thought and narrative is entirely natural and convincing. I can't imagine that it was easy to write but it is beautifully done.

Just stopping by to let you know that I've decided to include this gripping tale in an upcoming issue of the CAC Continuum. It is a wonderful read, one that more should read. I'm one of the Miners that voted for it, so I felt it my duty to promote this amazing peice of writing.
I'm told I should do this sort of thing so's I don't upset anyone. If my including this tale bothers you, just let me know and I'll grudgingly remove it (it really is one of the best entries I've read to date).
