This reminds me of nightmares where all sorts of things that need to be done become part of equations that then just won't add up though in the nightmare you're convinced they should.

Simply from a layout perspective, I would put spaces between the operators in the equation bit. But I don't think I'm creative enough to provide more constructive feedback.
