Happy Halloween BlueBird , I just left a message on the Waterhole thread, I hope you find that one. Would it be easier if I started a thread on your Personal Space?
Anyway, about this entry - I didn't know that was how 'trick or treat' started.
Back in the '60s, in Scotland, it wasn't 'trick or treat' like that. We used, (well for the couple of years we were there), to dress up and then call round neighbouring flats and earn our treats by reciting poems or singing or doing magic tricks - that sort of thing.
It was proper fancy dress too. Last year, here, I had three kids turn up on the doorstep in 'fancy dress'. They were each wearing a bin bag!
As I've said elsewhere, I love those pictures, and most especially that 'Dancing Pumpkin', makes me grin just like the pumpkin he's got in his hand.

PS is Collective using any of these pictures? I had a look around there for Halloween pictures but couldn't find any. Perhaps it's too soon. Or perhaps it's because I get as lost in Collective as you do in h2g2 .

Hello there Waz! Nice to see a reply so soon after I posted the entry in AWW.
Also I am glad to learn about Halloween celebration somewhere else. It really started right in that part of the world: Ireland and the British Islands.
But once comes to America certainly will be transformed. I just looked in a store today: Amazing variety of stuff you can buy just for a few hours fun for the kids!
Well like I say: not only "little" kids, but young in spirit at all ages!
Hopefully the weather will be nice for trick'n treat! Long preparations, lot of money goes into for that afternoon and night activities.
In Collective I also just posted the URL today,- sent it to the Editor separately, but for unfortunate reason my MAIN collaborator: Copper_Top can not get the Web page! It seems his computer ( Mac) has some limitations. All my friends here can get it. I worked on it for a week( not all the time)!
Have to go to The Waterhole for the cup of drink you left me. Yes, I am asking everybody: if you want to get into a conversation, or just have a simple reply, PLEASE post to My Page, because it is really hard to find things in h2, now gotten very crowded!
In Collective you have to go to the COMMUNITY part, that is where our stuff is. The living, creative member place.
The last issue # 173 has a photo from me: a little kid in a horror mask: a wolf with long nose! The kids in the store were very eager to be my model with masks, took a few, but the Editor choose this one! Can't miss it: on the front page for the Community the photo is on the right side: bright yellow!
Community letter comes out every week on Thursday! You have to sign up and you will get it too on E-mail.
Thanks for the reply in AWW. Blue bird
