This is one of two pieces inspired by the latest Stretcher challenge.

Everybody seems to be down memory lane this time.
We once spent a campin holiday like that when our son was nearly two years old. The puddles on the camping site were that large and deep that we let our son paddle in a puddle in a small rubber boat the in-laws had given him.

It was too wet and too cold to stay for much longer with such a small child, but it was nice as long as it lasted.

That last paragraph made my eyes prickle. Lovely!
As for stuff - I dread it. Especially anything mechanical or electronic. You have to find out how it works before you can use it. Then it goes wrong. Then you have to telephone a call centre... Then the real nightmare starts. And as for all those useless objects that sit on shelves, designed to catch and hold dust...
If your ideas catch on, the consumer based economy will be in big trouble

I like this very much. There's a lot of truth and real heart in it.
One gadget I make an exception for is the pc/laptop. Access to all that the internet can give is a real pleasure and benefit. Quite empowering. And the digi camera ... what they have in common is that they enable you create something. Perhaps that's what takes them beyond just having?
Thanks for the thought-provocation.

Thanks for your comments.
I must admit that I'd miss the power of the internet. It's amazing how fast it's become essential.
