Hows it goin? I was wondering if you could tell me again how to view other peoples coding, I thought just replacing the U in the researcher number with testuserpage. It doesnt seem to work. Im tempted to just put someone elses number in my code so I can view it. also I want to submit something to review but dont remember how, I did it before.

I just want to say... I'm a rockteer, and space enthusiast, caught you in the online chart, I'm new to HHGG, and trying to figure out the guide ml info. There a new service called SPACES at MSN, sort of a blog/album service. any thoughts on conectivity?

Hi Truckdrvrfrmhell
I try to avoid MS - anything! From many years of struggling with MS products I have become disenchanted..
Although I have my own website and blog, I'm usually too lazy/busy to update. I barely have time to visit hootoo, which is my favorite 'net space
I use the Fotki service for images.
Guide ML is really quite simple. It's very similar to html.
Once I discovered the trick of viewing the code, (post 102 above), it became very easy to write my own stuff...
.. if only php and css were that easy..
Let me know when you have some pages/images at the MSN Spaces thing, and I'll pop by for a look
Meanwhile, browse around hootoo, lurk some of the conversations, read some guide entries... perhaps you'll be inspired
Oh, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask..

I just want to say... That was totally disgusting!! I'm sorry that that type of thing still goes on.
I'm a herbalist and MY animals are fed on a raw diet a la Juliette de Baircali Levy (I hope that's spelt correctly). They rarely have fleas, diseases, worms or any problems with their health or emotions.
I was once discussing animals with my then landlady, and she said that she felt guilty that the family rabbit was such a "spoiled bunny". My reply was that at least in some places, such as ours, animals are given what they need in food and love, and are able to live a happy healthy life. It provides a small balance for that sort of thing on the IAMS website.
Apart from that, a colleague of mine who is an animal homoeopath, was alerted to the fact that those type of products are extremely unhealthy for animals anyway. Before she became interested in homoeopathy, a rep came to see her (as a breeder of miniature poodles) and sold her several months' supply of dry food (it was all they needed, he declared looking her straight in the eye). Her dogs became very ill within a few weeks and she realized that it was that crappy food. Back on the bones, meat and veg, and after a few visits to the animal naturopath and they were on the mend. It took some time, however, for them to recover from their culinary ordeal. It was after that incident that she began studying homoeopathy and applying it to her animals. So far, with the support of that modality, she has managed to breed all the undesirable characteristics out of her poodles (those that result from inbreeding etc.)
All I can say is that there is an alternative to giving your furry friends those types of food. It is called the 'natural diet'. All you need to do is think what a dog or cat would eat in the wild and try to imitate that in the home.
Anyway, keep up the good work of animal rights. They need people like you, mate.

I'd like to encourage you and other dv'rs to take part in Arthur Funkhouser's "Deja Vu Survey', currently underway, which can be accessed at http://silenroc.com/dejavu/
Also, I'm posting that link and some others relevant to deja vu/deja vecu at http://www.myspace.com/espiralli
Input from deja vu'ers is greatly appreciated and will definitely help to better our understanding...
An aspect of Art's (anonymous) survey not common to most dv surveys is the opportunity for those who experience deja vu on a continuous basis to provide input to current-day research...perhaps you, too, can help spread the word?
Thanks!
Espiralli

"Have you ever had an experience in which you recognized that something which was just happening had also happened before but, at the same time, you also knew that this was not possible (déjà vécu)?"
I think the wording is not entirely accurate. Perhaps it would be preferable to say:
"Have you ever experienced a _feeling_ such that what you were currently experiencing had occurred before?"
It is the feeling, which is common to all varieties, that is important in déjà vu, not the experience.
Neuroscience suggests that déjà vu results from a 'processing error' in the brain, originating from various causes -- trauma, fatigue, drugs, disease etc.
Anyway, I filled out the survey, but I feel many of the questions were rather ambiguous/incomplete/inaccurate.
If I have time, I'll write to the 'Team' as suggested on the closing page.
In the meantime, you may be interested in reading some of Antonio Demasio's books on neuroscience.
'Looking for Spinoza - Joy, Sorrow, and the Feeling Brain'
"Feelings of pain or pleasure or some quality in between are the bedrock of our minds.
We often fail to notice this simple reality because the mental images of the objects and events that surround us, along with the images of the words and sentences that describe them, use up so much of our overburdened attention.
But there they are, feelings of myriad emotions and related states, the continuous musical line of our minds, the unstoppable humming of the most universal of melodies that only dies down when we go to sleep, a humming that turns into all-out singing when we are occupied by joy, or a mournful requiem when sorrow takes over."
