here's episode three, i hope the explinations help you non-poke fans out there.

Those are good descriptions of the characters. But we still don't know what this is all about.

Please give us an introduction to this 'world'. Tell us what the point is...

...or they'll never learn anything around here.

You see, what is obvious to you (why you do this, what the fascination is) is a total mystery to the stick-in-the-mud types who are going to be reading this.

Your readers probably feel like this about, say, the sacred sport of cricket. If we don't 'get it', that's our problem, and we can move along while the grown-ups talk...

I insist that writing is about bridge-building, not niche-marketing.

So tell us a story, please, please, about something simple in Pokemon, and let me know where the monsters and their friends live, what they do, and what makes them tick.

I admit to being one of the stick-in-the-muds that Dmitri talks about.

So far we have met two human characters (and these show promise) who meet and fight with Pokemon monsters. I need a sense of direction: why do the humans set out on their journey and what are they hoping to achieve? Why do they fight the Pokemon monsters?

In other words, I need an overall plot.

well, im pretty sure i mentioned the pokemon league challenge which involves collecting badges, which most trainers set their sights on but as for alex, he doesn't really have a goal yet. He might figure one out in the near future (he might even go for the gym challenge) other pokemon related proffesions include;

pokemon co-ordinaters - people who teach their pokemon to use their moves in an appealing way in front of an audience (in the anime co-ordinaters also battle with appeal), this is called a pokemon contest.

pokemon breeders - people who dedicate themselves to making their pokemon happy with the use of superior knowledge of them.

pokemon watchers - as the name suggests, they watch pokemon in a similar way bird watchers do (the only watcher i've ever heard of is tracey in the anime though)

pokemon rangers - people who, with the help of one "partner pokemon", temporarily befrend wild pokemon to get them to accomplish such tasks as defeating bad guys or putting out forest fires.

More and more interesting.

You're gathering a lot of information here. Now, the trick is to get that information into either a) a story, or b) a really good guide entry.
