An unusual essay on the viability of using computer systems to investigate the extra-physical condition.

Very interesting - and Gnostic. smiley - smiley The essay is too long for online comfort - I'd recommend that you split it into three parts.

Oh, and that you put the personal revelations in an entirely different essay. Somebody who's following the argument with a fairly open mind may balk at a sudden claim of inside knowledge on the part of the narrator. Also, I think you need to go into more detail about that part, because it's even more interesting than the argument itself - but a couple of people should be along shortly who might have a better take than I on that. smiley - winkeye

I would point out that the word 'elohim' - as in who it is that is saying, 'Let us make man' - is a plural word, so I've always assumed multiple points of view there. I think early monotheists just got nervous.

I personally think that the computer is a cargo cult artefact of bad thinking when it comes to attempting to match human mental activity to the workings of the yetzirah. Because I refuse to believe in dualism. The universe is not reducible to the binary, nossir, say I. smiley - shrug But that's just me. Besides, we're talking denominational differences here.

Thanks for the read. smiley - smiley

Thank you for your appraisal of the Essay I submitted for approval. I will take on board your advice and try at some point to edit it into more manageable sections. To be honest I think essays, even the very best of them are sufferance’s of sorts. They never seem to have the same authority as for example a script or a novel.

I have a far longer work under the Title Adventer published on my space on h2g2, which may be the proof of "inside knowledge on the part of the narrator", which you feel may be "even more interesting than the argument itself"

Where I come from, the North East England, it is common for people to talk about themselves as individuals in the terms of us, or we, e.g. ‘gi us your telephone number’ (give me your telephone number), or ‘we's ganna do that like’ (whose going to do that like - meaning Am I going to do that). Sometimes in the matter of interpreting dialects ancient or modern we forget the nuances of dialect and/or regional accents of languages - not to mention the character/occupations of the speakers. For example if you ever met me you would not believe I could possibly be the author of the Essay you read and referred to as interesting and Gnostic.

Via Wkipedia: I learned " ...Yetzirah (also known as Olam Yetsirah, עולם יצירה in Hebrew) is the third of four worlds in the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, following Atziluth and Briah. It is known as the "World of Formation". "Yetsirah" as in "making" is as opposed to "Briah" as in "Creating": actually taking whatever matter that was created in the "Briah" and shaping it into the basic elements..."

I found this curious as Yetsirah and Briah seem therefore to be 'dualismically' linked in a sense. However I tend to symapthise with your view, in as much as I prefer the Tri-view to the Bi-view.
Indeed it is on this point Classical and other Ancient World views seem to concord. It ought to be of major concern to all of us that this surge toward a binary amelioration of the Universe, as it becomes ever more reality. For in so evolving we remove rationality from our midst and dangerously expose the struggle between the appetitive and the spirited side of the universe we develop alongside.

Thank you for your informative reading of my essay. I do appreciate you took the time. With your help I have learnt a little more and I am very grateful to you friend.

OOPS Sorry Dmitri, a >that< too many in there. Thanks for politely putting me straight. Reading the sentence back its way too over the top for what I actually wanted to say, which was that the Binary system - our use of it - is akin to leaving the Gates to our very Soul wide open, while the evil of decimalisation (the decimal system is surely the order of anti-life) devours our intellect.

There is a rally good by-line doing the rounds at present for either a Television or Movie production, it goes something like ... "If your going through hell… keep going". I feel we should have hung onto the Twelve Times Table, Analogue Signals and all things that kept us going through time and space at the correct pace, e.g. one which could see us live in Harmony with the Earth, if not our selves.

Again, Thank You.
