Hello Pheroneus II, we'd like to give 'Conflicting Loyalties' an UnderGuide spot on h2g2's front page.
on attracting the UnderGuide Miners attention, and thank you for an entertaining read.
What our QA had to say was "The difference between raconteur and storyteller has something to do with intimacy and wit, so the author definitely qualifies for the former title. A rewarding read, and quite an educational one, in its snapshot of what’s certainly a fascinating culture. You can just about smell the kimchee. The only part that doesn’t work for me is the set-up, and hence also the title. I guess I’ve never thought enough of barbers to be persuaded by the notion of their betrayal, and the sullen individuals revealed at the end don’t seem deserving of loyalty. I bet I’m not the only one who visualises them as Whitehouse and Williams either."
I'm not sure I agree with the niggle over the set-up. I took the loyalty to be with habit and custom, maybe even the red and white pole barber culture, rather than the actual people.
Niggle regardless, this deserves a week on the front page.
Thanks again,
UG Eds

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
