This is an account of a trip to Ooty from Bangalore- wondering whether such a casual yarn would meet the consistently high standards of H2G2, but submitting it anyway.

Oh, i certainly does meet high standards and is a cracing good read, thanks for submitting it. However, you've submitted this to Peer Review, the place that Entries intended for the Edited Guide come.

You've written your piece in first person (I this, I that etc.), and the Writing-Guidelines for the Edited Guide show that you'll have to rewrite if you intend this to be selected for inclusion in the Edited Guide.

As it stands it's a great piece for either <./>ThePost</.> or the <./>UnderGuide</.>, and you might like to think about submitting it there.

If you think you could work on it to meet the Writing Guidelines, go for it.

Just let us know and everyone here in Peer Review will help you out as best we can

Thanks for the generous comments. I actually did not know the guidelines for the edited guide, now looked it up. I see it says "Avoid writing in the first person" among other guidelines.

Do let me know if you think I was trying too hard to be funny - that's also mentioned in the guidelines.

Would edit it and resubmit it.

One last thing - when I wrote this I submitted it for Peer Review, but since you say "As it stands it's a great piece for either ThePost or the UnderGuide, and you might like to think about submitting it there. " actually I could not figure out how to submit the piece for a particular forum. Would look around - if there's a one-two-three guide for that do let me know. I do web applications programming among other things for a living, and I find it tedious to browse sites to find such information

It's a great piece of writing, and as I'm always on the lookout for great pieces for , I'd have a solution for you: click on PeerReview, scroll down and tick the little x next to your entry. That will remove it from this forum. If you'd agree to submit this to <./>ThePost</.> then you could just tell me so and I'd bookmark it and take care of the editing etc.
If you'd rather rewrite it to fit the writing guidelines for the edited guide, I'll understand.
