Body was found at the vicarage quarter passed nine
People die from sudden strokes all the time
Verdict of missadventure mending the roof
The doctore niece whilst tending the rose hedge
was stung to death by a swarm of bees
My wife's cooking is out of this world take a bite
Died from some rare tropical disease in the night
Dab hand at phatmaceuticals still no-one guessed
The village vet was drowned in the pigswill
You wonder who's turn will be next

I was minding my business
Lifting some lead off
The roof of the holy name church
It was worthwhile living a laughable life
To set my eyes on the blistering sight
Of a vicar in a tutu
He's not strange
He just wants to live his life this way
A scanty bit of a thing
With a decorative ring
That wouldn't cover the head of a goose
As rose collects the money in a cannister
Who comes sliding down the bannister ?
The vicar in a tutu
He's not strange
He just wants to live his life this way

The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path
The lunatic is in the hall
The lunatics are in my hall
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon
The lunatic is in my head
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You re-arrange me 'till I'm sane
You lock the door
And throw away the key
There's someone in my head but it's not me.
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band you're in starts
playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

I think it's marvellous! HaHaHa!"

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.
Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd 1975 RIP Syd.

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist growing
The water flowing
The endless river...

The old home town looks the same
As I step down from the train
And there to meet me, is my mama and papa
Down the road I look, and there runs mary
Hair of gold and lips like cherries
It's good to touch, the green green grass of home
Tom Jones

I hide in darkness blind to sense
Chasing a dream with false pretense
Help me find the fracture in this dark sky
Everything that I believe is
slowly overtaking me
I'm just trying to find my way back home
Endless days are haunting me
Open eyes and I can't sleep
I need this now rescue me
Just bring me home
You can't bring me down
‘Cause I'm going home

Dark As A Dungeon
There is many a man I have seen in my day
Who lived just to labour his whole life away
Like the fiend with his dope and the drunkard his wine
A man will have lust for the lure of the mine
It's dark as a dungeon and damp as the dew
Where the dangers are double and the pleasures are few
Where the rain never falls and the sun never shines
It's dark as a dungeon way down in the mine
I hope when I'm dead and the ages shall roll
That my body will blacken and turn into coal
I will look from the door of my heavenly home
And pity the miner a' diggin' my bones
It's dark as a dungeon and damp as the dew
Where the dangers are double and the pleasures are few
Where the rain never falls and the sun never shines
It's dark as a dungeon way down in the mine
