Lord Wolfden - Howl with Pride Posted Jun 3, 2005
As I walk on the moonlit path
The stars shine like the blazing embers
And the sky is like an endless sea
In the wind I hear the spirit of the wolf howling with pride
In the sky the spirit of the wolf runs through the heavens
Living on forever in the spirit of the pack
For in the pack, the alpha wolf leads without fear
Throughout the night in the light of the moon
Through hardships, rain, and snow, the spirit of the pack is strong and willing
For they must carry on and work together towards the future
As the pack howls into the everlasting night
Their howls carry on forever and into the dreams of others
As I dreamnt one night, I saw a wolf with undescribable beauty running through the skies
He ran with ever charming grace and burning pride
Below him the ageless mountains rose up and the dense forests were like a vast ocean
As he ran his way, the clouds thundered and made way
For he was a truly magnificent creature as he continued on his endless journey
I realized how dear life was and that you must make the most out of each day
And how precious my family and friends really were
For I was afraid of waking up one morning to find out everyone was gone
I didn't want the feeling of comfort taken away
So I started on a journey to find the strength and determination within myself to carry on without fear
As I walk on the moonlit path
I hear the joyess song of a pack howling in the distance
And I am assured that the spirit of the wolf will live on forever in the pack.

The Duck and the Kangaroo
(Lear and out of copyright but written from memory)
Said the duck to the kangaroo,
"Good gracious how you hop,
Over the hills and the mountains too,
As if you never would stop,
My life is a bore in this nasty pond,
And I long to go out in the world beyond,
I wish I could hop like you,"
Said the duck to the kangaroo.
"Please give me a ride on your back,"
Said the duck to the kangaroo,
"I would sit quite still and say nothing but ‘Quack’,
All of the long dy through,
we could go to the Dee and the Jellibolee,
Over the land and over the sea,
Oh give me a ride, Oh do,"
Said the duck to the kangaroo.
Said the kangaroo to the duck,
"This requires some little reflection,
Perhaps, on the whole, it might bring me luck,
And there seems but one objection,
Which is, if I may make so bold,
Your feet are unpleasantly wet and cold,
And would probably give me the rhumatiz,
Said the kangaroo
Said the duck, "As I sa’it on the rocks,
I have thought over that completely.
And have bought three pairs of worsted socks
Which fit my webbed feet neatly,
And to keep out the cold, I’ll wear a cloak,
And every day a cigar I’ll smoke,
All because of my own dear true,
Love of a kangaroo.
Said the kangaroo, "I’m ready,
All of a moonlight pale,
So if you’re ready dear duck sit steady,
And still at the end of my tail,
And off they went with a hop and a bound,
And they hopped the world three times times around,
And who so happy as who,
As the duck and the kangaroo.

At the hole where he went in
Red-Eye called to Wrinkle-Skin.
Hear what little Red-Eye saith:
"Nag, come up and dance with death!"
Eye to eye and head to head,
(Keep the measure, Nag.)
This shall end when one is dead;
(At thy pleasure, Nag.)
Turn for turn and twist for twist--
(Run and hide thee, Nag.)
Hah! The hooded Death has missed!
(Woe betide thee, Nag!)

Whenever I walk in a London street
I’m ever so careful to watch my feet;
And I keep in the squares,
And the big brown bears
Who wait at the corners all ready to eat
The sillies who tread on the lines of the street,
Go back to their lairs;
And I say to them, "Bears,
Just look how I’m walking in all of the squares!"
And the little bears growl at each other,
"He’s mine,
As soon as he’s silly and steps in line."
And some of the bigger bears try to pretend
That they came round the corner to look for a friend;
And they pretend that nobody cares
Whether you walk on the lines or the squares.
But only the sillies believe their talk;
It’s ever so portant how they walk,
And it’s ever so jolly to call out, "Bears,
Just watch me walking on all the squares!"
