Yep, that's pretty much how I'd describe Adams. It's very difficult to like Adams but even more difficult to not respect him. As I recall, Adams said that the only form of conversation worth having was an argument if that tells you anything else about him.

I guess mine is more of a rant. It was the result of the combined efforts or a school project and a 3 hour viewing of the tedious movie-musical 1776.

Funny how you can take things from totally different angles, either simple impressions or thorough research and arrive at the same conclusion. I think I'd rather read something about Adams than watch a three hour musical about the Revolutionary period That sounds like it would be *awful*.

Yeah, you're right. If some musical fan ever tries to talk you into watching 1776 just say that he doesn't see what you see, (they should understand, theres a part were "Adam" sings: Is anybody there, Can nobody see what I see, bla bla bla, ect...)
Anyway, I did my research. Watching a 3 hour historical musical featuring William Daniels as the second president of the united states is research. That and a thorough five minute browse on Wikipedia and a quick snoop in the history books can hardly be regarded as a simple impression.
But, if you ever have to know all the facts about the year 1776, then your best move is to lock all the doors, bring three cups of coffee, and try to have the most amount of fun a person can have while watching all the members of congress breaking into songs about how depressing George Washington is.
Key: Complain about this post
