Mewtwo and Vekura (Pokémon League: A285905. Be a superhero: A380396)

[Mew flies over to a Kadabra and says something telepathically. The Kadabra sends the message along a line of psychic types, until it reaches Mewtwo]

[male] }Mew's sent the message directly to the ACEs. Green fruitbats potato ice cream.{

What's with the ice cream? A distortion passed from ear to ear?

Well, Chinese Whispers is a jolly little game involving a long line of people at a party. The first person whispers a phrase once, and once only to the second person in line. The same person whispers what they heard to the next person, and so on. The object of the game is to see how distorted the phrase is by the time it reaches the last person in the queue. So for instance, 'I made friends with the King' becomes 'My microwave oven goes "bing!"'. OK, maybe not that distorted. Guess it's an English thing.

'Pokémon: The First Movie' was released in the UK yesterday. It got crap reviews. However, if the reviewers were under the age of twenty, it would have got rave reviews. Oh well, I hope to see it as soon as possible.

...whose Japanese name is known in America as Pikablu and in Japan as Mariru.

My mom has refused to let Pokémon: The First Movie NEAR the house because she wants to keep the contents of her stomach in her stomach: she saw the bit where Charizard got its head stuck in that pipe and they all went "Ha ha ha ha ha!" and concluded that this would be an example of the whole movie, including where Ash gets blown up by Mewtwo and Mew. (No, I don't think she knows about that part.) [YK suddenly realizes what he said and glances apprehensively at Mewtwo]

I have the book, and the four-part comic book, in case you're wondering how I know about it.

Did you know that "Pika" means "spark" in Japanese?
