and many, many other people - including some who have been using it for quite a few years...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VNC
Virtual Network Computing transmits keyboard and mouse events from one computer to another, relaying the graphical screen updates back in the other direction, over a network...
... platform-independent — a VNC viewer on any operating system can usually connect to a VNC server on any other operating system. There are clients and servers for almost all GUI operating systems and for Java.
Multiple clients may connect to a VNC server at the same time.
Popular uses for this technology include remote technical support and accessing files on one's work computer from one's home computer.

As VNC is Thin Client software it is possible for an older, poorly specified PC to connect to a better-specified 'server' PC and remotely run software that would not have been possible on the lesser PC, either due to memory, hard drive or power restrictions

I'm not technically competent to comment on your proposal. But if it comes to talking about wrong predictions, what about this one?
My father worked for Marconi on the early days of Television. He thought it would never catch on, because it was too expensive.

To six7s:
I've heard of that before, but they aren't really the same thimg. I'm talking about one computer split into two parts.
To minorvogonpoet:
That's a wise observation. I could be completely wrong and whacky.
