Sorry folks, but the altavist-bable fish sucks! Instead of using this tool you can actually use a random generating procedure and rearrange all known words in the silliest way possible...
I guess I'll have to accept that learning this bloody pom language (pretty realistic, eh) is the only way getting along...
If anyones blood pressure started to climb to unhealthy levels - sorry. Didn't want to offend any IT-engeneers afforts...

I was actually quite impressed. Most fragments got translated literally and didn't always make sense. However, translating German to English I typed in "Den Hund beisst der Brieftraeger" (the word order suggests that the dog bights the postman, but the articles suggest the opposite) and it got it right. Flip the der and den and the postman becomes the subject.
