I think I'll mentally dress up then
as for your second point, I think thats what commedienes (sp?) do
but most of them seek to end up suicidal (eg. hancock)

What can I do to make you Happy then. Within reason, I am in another country, I assume. If however you are just down the road fancy a beer?

Opinionated Lurker Posted Nov 2, 1999
Oh I'm happy.
I'd be happier with a beer though.
I should save that for later though.
And England is hardly down the road, cept from Scotland

Well, when I'm not hanging around computer rooms in Bergen I do live in Newcastle. Which does a very fine Ale indeed.

I just meant that lots of various ales would be needed to persuade me that
the beer there is any better than the midlands, lancashire, suffolk....
..now take my hanky and cheer up

Funny that you mention that...go see what I do about such things at http://www.h2g2/A194249
But stock up now, while the impliment of happiness is still available. But, of course, that assumes you live in the states and just celebrated Halloween.

Øh... as a citizen from a country where English is not the native tongue, and without a dictionary, I'll allow myself to ask: what is a maxim?
Being Nice
Opinionated Lurker Posted Nov 2, 1999
I'm not sure what helena said, but I meant it as a 'rule of conduct'
..and I hope you read my reply Helena
Being Nice
Vakuum Posted Nov 2, 1999

Blimey, only been here a day and you're already spreading goodwill and cheer throughout the community!
Good on ya, H
P.S. Agree, it's perfectly possible to be as good to others as to yourself, if not more so. I'd even go so far as to argue that it's better and in the long-run far more rewarding to aim to be of service to others, rather than striving to make yourself happy.
But enough of metaphysics.
Anyone for an apricot?

I'm invaribly nicer to me than to other people, I'm afraid. I have to live with me for the rest of my life. But I like making other people happy, to a degree.
