Youch!
Poor kid. This is just how things get so out of proportion at that age. And I'm left feeling frustrated that poor David didn't find rescue, despite the fact that he's fiction!
One thing - the note. He seems so cornered it's hard to imagine him putting two words together. I've been wondering what he'd have written... I guess just a tongue tied 'sorry'.
Welcome to h2g2, by the way .

Yes, a heavy one this.
Not my favourite, but still exceptionally good.
You seen much of the rest of ian's stuff, Waz? All of a very high standard, and the best of it exceptional.
And prolific or what? Only Chips can keep up with him!

This is the first I've read. Saw the selection in the AWW list and chose this as having had no comments.
A Chipless one .
So what do you recommend for a second course then?

They're all good.
I think my favourite is this one : A14049137
It's more optimistic than many of the others.
Ian can certainly write, though. Introduced by Flame, as you might have gathered.
It's hard to know how to crit/encourage when it's this good.

Cheers both. Off to read both.
In post order. So that there's no squabbling...
Actually, given the time, I'll probably go for a night's sleep in between.

PS hi Flame , it's been a while - good to see you here again.
