I remember when I was in primary school (age 8 or 9) a boy in my class was given a pomegranate. He took a bite out of the skin, thinking it was an apple. Then we all looked inside it at the brightly coloured pips and reckoned they must be insect eggs of some sort. It got quickly thrown in the bin.

Well GB, you've got the answer from the Eds as to what to do with your lists of recipes over at the Radish conversation (see postings 18 and 20 of that conversation). I can't say I'm happy with it, but the Eds has spoken.

Thanks BigAl I'll attend to your comments next.
Gnomon, I've moved the recipes to the references, there were only two non-vegetarian so I've just kept the Pak choi and pomegranate salad which I am going to try next week as I'm allowed tiger prawns
The links don't look too bad in the references section, although I have added "(non-vegetarian)" to the pak choi link, I'm very wary of upsetting vegetarian people - my entries will outlive me and I can imagine a future when meat-eating people will be quite rare..
When I went to school everyone ate meat. As an adult, vegetarians were rare, tree-hugging types. Now most of my grown-up childrens' friends are veggies.

Now that the links are in the side bar, they've all been truncated, so you'll have to change them slightly. On my browser they look like this:
BBC Derby - Recipes - Tab...
Pomegranate fool
Orange and pomegranate sa...
Leafy salad with feta and...
Lemon and cinnamon pomegr...
Mango and pomegranate sal...
Pak choi and pomegranate ...
BBC Food - Recipes
You could remove BBC Derby - Recipes from the first one. I'm not sure what you can do to the rest.

Some more points.
A H2G2 Researcher --> An h2g2 Researcher (An rather than A; lowercase letters for h2g2).
"According to some legends the pomegranate was the 'tree of life' in the Garden of Eden."
It wasn't the "tree of life", it was the "tree of the knowledge of good and evil". If this is too much of a mouthful, you could just call it the "forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden".
or refrigerate then offer to the child -- this would be better with a comma after refrigerate
Can you check your quote from the Greek herbal? Does it really say "being sod"?
Perhaps say "Andrew Chevallier" rather than "A Chevallier", as it looks as if you are talking about a Chevallier.
"Pliny the Elder (see above) prescribed pomegranate juice for pregnant women suffering from qualmishness ('morning' sickness)" -- I don't know why you use an archaic English phrase for Morning sickness here. Pliny would have said it in Latin, so why translate it into some archaic which you then have to explain? Why not just say he recommended it for women suffering from morning sickness?

"being sod" - the quote came from the BMJ website, so I assume it's correct:
http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?artid=1118911
I have removed the "BBC Derby - Recipes" from the first recipe but left the rest, they are not truncated on my browser (IE)
Corrected the "additional research" tags
A H2G2 Researcher --> An h2g2 Researcher
(although I have been told to drop the "h" elsewhere)
"According to some legends the pomegranate was the 'tree of the knowledge of good and evil' in the Garden of Eden."
comma after refrigerate
"A Chevallier" changed to Andrew Chevallier
changed qualmishness to 'morning' sickness
Thanks Gnomon!

Hi GB,
Can I clarify something?
You've got 'They are great as a snack for toddlers.'
then
'Put the seeds in a bowl and freeze; or refrigerate, then offer to the child as a healthy snack'
Does this mean the child is getting just the seeds to eat?
Otherwise, looking good to me
Jules

No, I can't think how to change it to something that doesn't look like read the child in the freezer then pulp the toddler before feeding it pomegranate pump.
So I've pared it down and hope it reads alright now.
Sorry but I've been put on a new medication (simvastatin) and I don't feel "with it" at all.

Sorry to hear that GB - you'll have to have some pomegranate - they're supposed to promote circulation.
Incidently, if you've been given simvistatin for blood pressure then there is a new generation of drugs that work better, and statins are no longer recommended in the UK for this type of problem. Its still OK for heart attack victims though.)
