Ok then, so if you happen to want an East Midlands Picnic then I'm trying to get one on the go. Nothing as fancy as rounders in London but the more the merrier.

Place will be some park in Leicester (any suggestions) and I'd intended on the last weekedn in August but as this is the bank holiday weekend, I'd be grateful if people would suggest an alternative if they would prefer not that weekend.

It will be along the lines of turn up with some food and enjoy.

See you there.

I had to go to a wedding which was annoying and something came up for Smurf aswell, so it got called off.

Why don't we call it back on again? I'd suggest Castle Park inleicester, coz it's pretty, and if it rains, then o'Neils, as my local. What do you think? When do you think?

There are rumours in the pipeline at the moment for a pre-chrimbo h2g2 shindig. Where and when still haven't been decided but I'm sure it will get posted when they have. The main problem is that we all live so spread out. For example we actually live in Ipswich, Smurf's over in Loughborough (poor soul) and a lot live in and around London. Hopefully this chrimbo do might be a little north of london to make it easier for us all.

It's starting to look like London will be the venue, where though and what to do is still undecided.

Hello everyone and I send apologies (I can never tell if my spelling is correct) for having to call off the picnic thing but we had a bit of a family disaster just before the weekend I'd set it on. Things are back on track again now and I would love to say I'd organise another one but for the moment it looks like I won't have the time to do anything at the weekend except try and stop the kid causing too much damage to himself or the house.

We've got a new community editor now, Peta is her name. She might help organise something. Although I'm mostly booked up until February.

Yipe,

I live in Leicester, and go in O'Neills fairly often. When are you going back to London?

Maybe we could meet up to imbibe beverages that have a curious effect on carbon based lifeforms 8*0

I'm a fairly recent addition here and am also a commited Leicestershirarian so, like, mmm... the whole Castle Park, O' Neils thing could be good, but the weather's getting a bit inclement for pickernicks!

Hey!

How do we guess who you are?

We don't even know if you're male, female; short, tall or anything.

And O' Neils is mingingly busy on a Friday nightsmiley - sadface

Still, I may make an incognito appearance, haven't been in the place in years.

Now with a bit more warning I could have been there too but alas I won't as I've made other plans.

Thats the point!

But you'll probably meeta lot of interesting people in the process!

I know O'neils is busy, but it's right opposite work, and we are all far to lazy to consider walking even as far as the Globe or anywhere else (infact, I have never been in the Globe!)

Gaaaaaaa....

I broke my toe so I couldn't be there. The Globe is actually a decent pub. (See my non-existent guide entry on the pubs of Leicester).

Don't get me wrong. I like O' Neils. I used to work there. But I know what Friday nights are like. Hope you had a good time a the Fan Club.

You should let me & Smurf know if you're planning on making any other forays into the wilderness of the East Midlands, I'll bring a pie.

Vlad.
