"how'd you get to -6?"
It's what we on hootoo call a post 21. I.e the poster has clicked on the subject heading, read the first page and not realised there are more pages (and posts) to follow. They reply to post 20 thinking it is the last posting, but their post turns up x many pages later since new posts always appear at the end of the list.
Most famous (hootooian famous that is) was the old British English thread which had a post 20 which asked a question about the origin of the phrase "The dog's b*ll*cks" and, even 10,000 posts later, people were still occasionally posting a reply to this, even though it had been long since sorted. This is also the reason why dog's b*ll*cks is never mention in that thread, or its successor.
I now return you to normal (?!?) programming.
