Joe exaggerated his time scale slightly.
Joe has taken a medical gases course and a defibrillator course, and will be doing a longboard course next week. Joe is then planning to work for the company doing this training, a private ambulance service, as a technician (lower level than a paramedic). But Joe still has to finish A-levels and go to university before becoming a fully-qualified paramedic and working in the NHS service.
Joe still wants to do it though

Joe also believes that this thread could do with a slightly snazzier title.
Joe can't think of one, and settles for an equally-non-snazzy title.

Dr M Green MD remembers Mr Joe C. Midget in Kid Rock's Band?

Joe welcomes Dr Green to h2g2 Joe also advises Dr Green that an h2g2 ACE will be along to (his? her?) Personal Space shortly to provide an official welcome.
Joe's only knowledge of his namesake is the guest appearance on an episode of 'The Simpsons'.

Midge wishes to know why this midget person has never been mentioned to her before.
Midge would also like it known that she is still here, and watching.
Midge also welcomes Dr Green, and will be wandering over to his/hers soon, to say hello.

Joe wishes it to be known that, to commemorate the last day of school on Friday with something vaguely silly, he intends to spend an entire day speaking in third person.
Joe would like to know others' opinions of such a plan

Joe had considered other options, such as going to school without any shoes, but decided that that would be too painful. And uncomfortable if it rains.

Joe could do what BC did once and wear odd shoes
Perhaps the only flaw in what BC did was it wasn't deliberate

Joe normally wears smart/casual trainers... so Joe could go in one smart shoe and one sandal...
On second thoughts, the shoe idea is probably not such a good one, as people not at Joe's school will not know that it's the last day. In fact, it won't even be the proper school last day, but because Joe is in Sixth Form he gets to have a wonderfully exciting () week of Work Shadowing. Joe hasn't yet worked out the difference between Work Shadowing and Work Experience, which he did in lower school.

BC missed out on such wonderful experiences as work experience and shadowing when he was at school. At polytechnic (which may give some an idea of how long ago it was) he did do work experience in a library one summer and learnt he didn't want to be a librarian.

Joe has volunteered in school libraries, and was confused when a Careers Service computer program suggested he be a librarian, amongst 40 other things (including, bizarrely, traffic warden, educational psychologist, road safety officer and teacher... Joe thinks this is quite a wide spread of options). Joe doesn't understand why it would suggest such a thing, since he doesn't like doing half of the jobs required

BC thinks traffic warden must be a deeply satisfying job, and of course leads to you recieving much respect from your grateful fellow citizens

BC worked for the Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise and is the son of a tax inspector so is used to the gratitude of his fellow citizens.

Midge, who is still around somewhere, honestly, did work experience at a bakery and learnt that she liked to eat pastries etc. She did not go on work experience to a primary school, like so many others did, as her mother was - and indeed, still is - a teacher, and she would not be in her right mind if she considered she'd ever teach.

Joe has thought about teaching Spanish.
Only this evening, Joe was thinking about the age-old joke, "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach."

Those who can teach, teach. Those who can't teach PE.
Right... anyway... Joe should become a Spanish teacher 'cause the students would love him. Danielle would learn Spanish if Mr. Joe was the teacher. Danielle wonders if she can call him Mr. Joe...? Can she?!
On that note, Danielle wants breakfast.
