I'll be back shortly - I didn't have a new one prepared...

I have one.
Two actually from the same film, so I shall use both.
"An ounce of bargaining; a pinch of trickery; a coupcent* of intimidation: et voila! A towering reputation without having to spill one drop of blood. Ever tried to get blood out of a silk shirt? Nightmare!"
*Approximate french, pronounced "soo-sant"
And....
"I did .. um.. know a girl once - if you know what I mean, I'm a ladies man - she had a sister. I think it was a woman. Oooh she was terrible! Had a face like a bag of frogs. Ugly frogs."

Shouldn't take you long.. but I've been wrong before.

Hmm, that shouldn't be too difficult .... yes here it is, tje home video's of the family of flying ostriches, .... let me see ....volumne 65 is the one in which Clive's uncle tells him at his 18th birthday with diplomatic circumspection the rather insouciante relationship between his ancestors and ends up explaining why buying shares in pharmaceutical/cosmetics companies is his best option for improving his changes with the opposite sex and thus securing the continuation of the family.

I don't understand what you mean Krabbat. You got me completely confused.
What movie are these quotes taken from?

Could it be from one of the versions of 'The Three Musketeers'?
Sounds as if something Porthos would say..

Ah... no. But there is a swashbuckling theme there so you're on the right lines

Ok, since no one else is venturing a guess, how about "Treasure Island"?
Isn't that the one with Geena Davies as the lead?
Swashbuckling ahoy in that film.

Correction:
The title of the film is "Cutthroat Island".

Good correction but wrong film. Right idea though.

Ok, so next guess would then be the obvious choice, which seems too obvious for you to choose, unless oyu just want to move the game on..
Pirates of the Caribbean
It's probably Lord Beckett that says it, so I'd assume either dead Man's CHest or At World's End.. Not sure which.

Not any of the pirates films.
All though the quotes come from men who have a boat and an office, respectively.

Is it from "And now for something completely different", that weird monty python film?

No it isn't.
I should have thought my last clue-laden post would have prompted you in the right direction.

I was thinking along the same lines as Bobaah. I remember the start of a Monty Python film where offices turned in to sailing ships. I don't recognise the quote, but the description sounds like the start of Meaning of Life.

I can say for certain it is not.
The first quote is uttered by a man, acting very much against type.
The later...enh...he's acting entirely in keeping as usual.

Am I thinking too far back for my guesses? Maybe something more recent.
Like 'Stardust', maybe. Would fit in with the 'office' reference since Ricky Gervais has a part in Stardust, doesn't he?
