A Conversation for How do I...?

Please excuse my ignorance, but Im fairly new to this strange world. To get to the point; I have written an article in my personal journal which I would like to submit for peer review. All the various guides tell me to link onto the "submit for review" button, and use the drop down menu etc. Ive read all that.
But there is no such link anywhere on my page. Where is the little bleeder hiding.? How do I submit my article? HELP, please., ANYONE??

I'm afraid that you can't submit journal entries to Peer Review. You need to copy-and-paste the contents of the entry into an 'article', which you can submit to Peer Review.
To do this, copy the contents of the journal entry into the clipboard, click '<./>Contribute</.>' then 'Click here to add an entry to the Guide', then paste the text into the 'Contents' box. Once you've done that, give the article a title and click 'Add Guide Entry'. On that entry, you'll then see a 'Submit for Review' button that you can use to submit the entry to Peer Review. Remember to check the Peer Review thread (which will appear on your conversations list as soon as you add the entry to Peer Review) regularly!

It is only Guide Entries, not Journal Entries, that can be submit for review.
You should copy and paste the contents of your Journal into a Guide Entry.
1. Select the journal entry and Copy.
2. Click on Add Entry on the left margin menu.
3. Paste the text into the Guide entry, give it a title, then click on the Add Entry button. Now you should see your entry and be able to submit it.

And before you do any of that, please read Writing-Guidelines, PeerReview, and some of the new edited entries listed on the <./>FrontPage</.> to make sure that your entry is suitable for Peer Review

It also wouldn't hurt, please, if you don't mind, if you put in an introduction to your personal space.
When you do get around to pasting your entry into a Guide Entry, please cite sources.
Something about your entry seems very, um, resourceful.

1) I have already completed my personal introduction, as we are all urged to to when first visiting the site.
2)Not so sure about your waspish asides about sources. Doesnt everyone research the subject they intend to write up? And my sources (presumably the names of the vessels) are any of a large number of historical records of WW2. I read up a number of accounts of this particular incident...just as many others will have done on various articles I have read on this site on historical events, battles, and the like. Do you have a point, or is it that you simply dont like resourceful contributors.

Hi Tigger. As you've obviously figured out now the article you originally created 3 weeks ago called "Introduction" is not what most people mean. Unfortunately it is not clear on the pages that you have to click on a different link to create what is usually called your "personal space" page. At least you found it eventually.
The somewhat pointed remarks about sources/resources are because there has recently been a problem with plagiarism on the site. It is quite OK to read other people's work, reference books, web-sites etc but it is very important that you then put everything in your own words when writing your own article. The exception to this is when you are quoting. If you are including the personal account of anyone else then it is important to make it clear you are quoting and cite its source. Copyright law says you may only quote a very small part of any work as fair use of that work. It is also polite to ask the original author for permission to quote if they are still around in order to be asked.
