Dr Anthea - ah who needs to learn things... just google it!

so I've had my first university interview at University Cumbria!

whats that... you thought I said my first interview was Edge hill on the 17th of January, well then they postponed it till the 27th... and then again till the 7th of February (I think they like the number 7)it strikes me as a little unprofessional but I'm sure they have their reasons smiley - erm

so it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but they didn't show us around the university which strikes me as a little odd but I suppose it was a long day smiley - erm Cumbria did give us a hot drink - well a voucher for a hot drink.

the interview could have gone worse... probably could have gone better I wont find out for another few weeks

smiley - yikes

I'm also trying to apply for a passport,
now this will be my first passport so there are a few extra questions you've got to answer and the application is annoying me slightly, I managed to get upto section four where I now have to enter my parents details... I need to give HM Passport Office my parents passport numbers... now my mother that's easy enough she does have a current valid passport and I talk to her every week. now my father... I haven't spoken a word to him in about ten years, since before I left home. I dont know where he lives nor do i wish to know I dont know if he has a passport I doubt he has needed one...
and they are no longer married... I suppose i could put my mother in as a single parent... perhaps that's the answer

section 5 asks for a certificate of naturalisation... as a uk born citizen i guess i don't need this

I just dont know! Gah!

*deep breath*

I also have two universities still to hear from

smiley - goodluck Hope all the interviews go well!

Why on earth do they need information about your parents? You're not a child, right? smiley - huh

They want your parents' details for ID card applications here, too.
Full name, date and place of birth, if I remember correctly.

Although if you don't have those details, you have the possibility to produce a birth certificate instead.

Maybe there's a way around it for you too ?

I have had a look at the guidance notes

I think what you can do is fill in your father's last known details
and fill in the extra information section explaining you have had no contact with him for a decade so you have no up to date details nor a passport number should he have one.

You don't need a naturalisation certificate, as you are a citizen by birth

today I have heard back from University cumbria
remember i said it would probably be a few more weeks
well I must have made an impression because I've been offered an unconditional place well "This offer is subject to you obtaining Satisfactory Health and Criminal Record background checks"

which is pretty much standard for everything these days smiley - magic
