h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I have recently secured a place to do a pre-nursing course at Lancaster Adult Learning college.
the problem is... and this may seem obvious, it's in Lancaster, which will mean quite a bit of travelling
thus I am hoping also to manage to get a place in the similar course at Blackpool and Fylde college which would be much easier to get to and I wouldn't need to travel for hours each day
I am hoping that through doing this course I will be able to go on and qualify to be a Educational Needs nurse, so I have emailed the person responsible for volunteers at the local hospital to see if I can get some experience there too. It is a teaching hospital so there is a possibility that I would go on to do my nursing placement there if i do get onto a nursing course so it would be a good idea to get to know the people there... I think

I had gotten a promise of an interview at Cumbria university to do the course on learning disabilities nursing. Unfortunately they scheduled the interview for Monday the day I was getting back from Scotland. I had advanced booked tickets and couldn't get back any earlier (and I didn't actually find out about the interview till monday evening in any case) so I missed the interview and when I called them they said it was the last interview of the year and there was nothing that could be done
So...
hopefully the course I am going to do will
1) make it easier when I apply next year
2) give me some experience
3) help me be more confident

I am reading up on some basic biology etc which i passed an exam for about nine years ago... so I'm a little foggy on some of it and it probably wont crop up on the course but I will feel a bit better for having tuned up a bit

A pity about Cumbria Uni but if they offered a interview this year that is encouraging and next year your hand will be strengthened as you say.

it was lovely seeing everyone and my gran loved seeing Charlie for the first time,
I got to relax a little bit too read some books that I've had for a long time
