h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I've been round the zoo today with
boy is it hot out
we've seen a lot of animals
going round the zoo it too tiring at the moment I think i had to sit down every ten minutes or so
it's days like today that I wish I had a paddling pool and a beach chair so i could sit and splash my feet in cold water

we're off to the lakes on monday just for a one night visit before bump arrives

There won't be a new duck tails this week or next, sorry to those of you who actually read it

I think I might go and have a lie down to be honest,

Monster was very upset that mummy didn't get him the dinosaur toy at the zoo, he did get a tortoise toy so I think that should have made up for it really
but the dinosaur was a soft toy and at £20 I think it's a bit much for something just because your passing through the gift shop! especially as he wanted a little one as well at a further £8
explaining to a four year old that he only has £5 to spend is hard work, saying that he might get a t-rex toy when bump arrives as a gift from his new brother, but at least there is a reason for that and it's not just a random purchase, especially as it costs so much to get into the zoo these days!! it was half price for locals but that was still over £20 for two adults and a child! at least it wasn't £40 like it would have been otherwise all in all I'm feeling much poorer


off to cool down and perhaps find an ice lolly...

although it dosnt seem quite as hot today

thanks for letting us know about Duck Tails, I shall just look at my gallary

gift shops can be quite a trial and then there can be consequences, the time when I thought we were going to have pay for some redecoration.

Hiccup and Jems brought a couple of lemurs, they used to watch Roar so knew how important enrichment activities were to animals who are not in the wild. To our amazement when we walked into their bedroom in the caravan there was about two loo rolls worth of roll that had been stuck from the ceiling, wall to wall, with cellotape so that the lemurs could climb and swing as if they were in the wild.

We managed to unstick without causing any damage to surfaces and got them blutac and gave strict instructions about what surfaces they could stick too, which worked out ok, wouldn't want the lemurs to be bored

One of those times though, when you ,and think, why oh why, do you encourage an imagination

The air conditioning in the pub is broken (can't get the bloody windows open) so its quite warm in there

well at least you've got cold drinks to keep yourself hydrated Jack

lemurs eh....
well thankfully tortoise don't need much enrichment and I'm not sure monster would be that worried he tends to imagine all his little friends with super powers

cider and gin is just plain stone cold

this weather is lasting a while!
I'm a bit worried it might be summer come early

meanwhile the tomatoes and strawberries do not really appreciate it and would like some more rain thank you very much

we've a few gooseberries (I wasn't expecting any till next year)
and loads of black currents (might give a tub to the lady on the corner, that one neighbour that actually talks to everyone)

hopefully this is not it for summer, probably just a big tease given the upcoming bank holiday

clouding over here, smells like rain, all the berries are going to be grateful if it does
