well it's one week until the big day,
most of the preparations are done,
gifts sent off to Scotland

the has taken part in his school play
he was a very cheeky king

and community arts... ah what can I say about community arts
well and are mine,
although I did get a little help with polishing them
I think I've worked out the last bit so any more i make should *should*
be OK

I must say I've been a bit downhearted lately
a lot of people are being very negative and it's making it much harder for me to actually sit down and do anything

I realise people are allowed to be critics,
but it's hard to take when they all seem to shout and stamp feet
especially those who have never tried illustrating for the community,
so I implore all of you to try doing some pictures for some of the old entries that currently don't have any,
lets make h2g2 a wonderful and colourful place!
imagine the cheerful wonderfulness that we would miss out on without illustrations
now I know my particular images are quite bad...
I'm a potter not an illustrator
so I'm sure many of you will be much more creative and wonderful than I,

please remember it is the festive season
and a little kindness goes a long way

As I've repeatedly said, it seems some people take a perverted sense of satisfaction in being highly critical without actually offering anything positive in return. Even saying a simple thank you escapes some folk sadly. Fortunately they're in a minority and I'm sure the majority, like me, appreciate, welcome and thank all behind the scenes or up-front for all their endeavours.

The new smileys are lovely Dr A, a real , thank you. I was particulary looking forward to getting the and out for the Solstice

*thinks* about doing a smiley, then scoffs because of her complete lack of artistic ability, but I wonder if it could be a Create task at sometime. Someone could run a short smiley course, maybe for all abilities, wouldn't have to end up with a smiley fit for h2g2 necessarily but could display their effort on their personal space

Maybe pre-course a handbook *wonders if there is already a guide* so not *everyone* would be completely clueless before they started, I still might be though

as long as you want static one's it's not too bad,
the problem comes when you want them to move

I dreamt about the smiley course, I was getting a right telling off for not doing my homework

I thought of a moving smiley, but some people struggle with them visually so decided on static, giving my artistic/tech ability that seems also wise
