There used to be good stuff on TV. It is no longer true I believe. There is almost nothing now on the TV. Occasionally you get gem like Black Books or Jessica (man she is hot). But nowadays these gems are few and further apart. Its is of course becoming generic soap followed by "reality" TV followed by unfunny comedy program. Even the Nickelodeon toons are unfunny and its a bad day when the unreality and escapism of a Nickelodeon cartoon is not funny. So what to do? Computer games!
OH NO! they too have lost all plot lines, no more are a real challenge unless you happen to have the most recent computer and even then its not fast enough to deal with the boss on level 7. They characters are drawn worse than in the days of pong! I mean this is ridiculous I am sure we should be able to see facial featured by now, even if its 2 eyes and a nose.My gods computer games suck!
Ok ok next resort the net! Yes! even if its not procrastination at least there is porn! Right? Wrong. Everything costs money, even reading the online papers costs money now and its not great content when you do pay! The journals all have debate about the use of the net, how many times can you go over the same argument people? And the porn is costly and has no real content, and chances are if you go anywhere near the site your downloading some virus or another... does that count as a sexually transmitted disease? No. Probably not. But your computer will be full or Trojans, spy-where and probably something downloading stuff you wouldn't want to know about!
Ok maybe foods! You can't do anything to food right? AH!
NOOOO! The ice cream isle is more like a confectionary isle, what happened to rocky road! NO! and the drinks! Coke with lemon, coke with lime, coke with vinilla, diet coke with x, y, z, Tia Maira tim tams, mint tim tams, i mean theres no real coke or real tim tams! I liked real coke and tim tams! no rokey road! no tim tams! no coke! Who commercial misadventure was this? I think I will make some parsnip soup cause thats the only vegetable I recognize! And the commercial grade butcher doesn't have any meat thats not $20 a kilo!
Thats it I am going back in time to buy myself some decent food, watch some decent TV and surf the net properly!

Nickelodeon went downhill when they stopped showing Pete & Pete. Plus the fact that the only Nicktoon I ever really liked is the only one that never gets rerun. (AAA, Real Monsters! if you were wondering)

Porn has content? I guess I've obviously not seen enough then. (Actually, being moderately innocent (You in the back! Stop laughing!) I've never seen more porn than just a few images. Oh well.)

Yes Nickelodeon has been going dow hill since the 2nd rug-rats movie.
Indeed Porn has content, there is good porn, and bad porn, thats about as far as I am going.

Just for having said it: Computer games have NEVER had any plot lines. I agree that the old computer games are often the better ones, though some of the new ones can give some hours of light entertainment. *shrugs* The good old computer games are even free, and can be downloaded from a load of websites, so why bother with new and fancy stuff?

HEY! I LOVE Pong. *mutterstoself*
My favorite is the ice cream that's low fat, low carb, no sugar added! Who the hell calls that ICE CREAM? I call it frozen putty. *mutterstoself*
Oh, I used to actually watch Pete & Pete... As for the Rugrats, BAH!

Sort of like diet, caffeine free soda. What's the point?
I've had nightmares about Pong after we had to program it in assembly language for a class.
Rugrats-BAH! Couldn't have said it any better myself.

Hey! I LOVE Pong!
As for porn, in the words of Avenue Q, 'why do you think the net was born? For porn, porn, porn. The internet is for porn, the internet is for porn...'

Pong is brilliant.
You had to program it in _assembly_?!? What on earth are you studying?
Never played marathon, but anyways, why should a computer game need a plot line? Take racing games, for instance, they're about driving a car/hovercraft/other bizarre vehicle around a track as fast as you can manage, and hopfeully faster than the other computer-controlled contestants. There's no plot to them, but they're hellishly fun, nonetheless, especially if there are some weapon pickups stationed around the track. Computer games have one purpose alone: to allow people to do what they would never otherwise be able to do, thus entertaining them.

Hey! I LOVE Pong! (can I stop saying it yet?)
Those racing games make me physically ill. Going around and around and around while you aren't moving...

You know, I think she might love Pong.
That's what I get for doing electrical engineering.

I think FlyingBetty is the only bright one out here.

I know she loves pong.
Ah, yes, electrical engineering would explain it.
Well, I still think the best SPS's are the ones without any plot whatsoever. They do not need plots to be entertaining, and some of the best are the ones that are really just multiplayer games with bots added (I am not talking CS here, but quite a lot of other games). RPG's is not my field of experience at all, though I suppose they need to have a bit of a plot... I don't think there have ever been too many RPG's with good plots, since a lot of them tend to become a bit... hrm... unusual.

When I was a kid there was good TV and good video games and porn with plots and I had to walk to and from school in the blizzards uphill both ways...
(actually that last part is pretty true)
