OH MY GOD!! OH MY GOD!! LOL LOL LOL!! http://www.omg.lol.org.net/omfg IS THE BEST SITE!
Ok. So how many times have you had one of your "buddies" send you an e-mail such as the one above? Well this is how my day started. With 23 e-mails about 1 site. All the same site. A site that shall not be named and shall be forever put on the banned list from now on. That was the sign from the fluxtuwations that this was not going to be a good day. Also the "buddy" has had an attack of sarcasm, palindromes, simony, puns and metaphoric sentences thrown at her (if it is a her) and has promptly decided that she will not send me new fantastic sites in future unless they have the words "Sorry to bother you darakat, but I think this site URL is really neat." apparently it will hurt her physically to try such a feat. I am harsh but fair.
Hi, I am darakat and this is my Thursday (Thought I would have a traditional opening to my day in the life). It suxs. Its starts off with the wake up call at 6:00 to get up, check e-mail and eat, plus dress, shower, dip-bounce and prepare lunch to be ready to go with my dad to uni (it only happens on this day because the genius who designed my timetable thought it be a really good idea to have a 8:30 lecture on human computer interaction). of course I get there far to early for the lecture, thats ok, I can all ways do things that are necessary to do at 7ish in the morning (like wake up). I attend this lecture which this week is on document design and how to organize a group (according to the web site) it turns out to be about this ( http://www.ise.canberra.edu.au/u5916/Content/Lectures/ISD%202004%201,%20Lecture%2001-2b,%20Documentation%20design.doc ) read it. Its a 41K file and a real blast. For example a real gem is "Different users learn to use new technologies in different ways." can anyone say DRUMUNDO! (the original duh). I mean who doesn't already know this by 3rd year! I mean WHO THE HELL DOESN'T KNOW THIS! It pisses me off when I get lectures at 8 f***en 30 about STUFF I ALREADY KNOW!!!
So bad start to the day? Yeah.
Next we have a 30 minute gap (more genius form the people who brought you things as 8:30 lectures and 1 and half hour tutes that last 12 minutes) and well its as boring as all hell. There is absolutely nothing you can do in a educational institution for 30 minutes especially when you leave all your precious text books at home (mine are going to last until there 30 years old I spent my money on them, thats how long there staying there for if they don't Co-op book store has a one angry Liberian (without badge) on there hands). Talking about the book store the facilities there are okish, its all academic stuff selected by the lectures and so on, what you would expect in a 10m square building. But its not easy reading. The refectory (craftier to anyone not a university planner) has food of suspicious quality (and content thereof). I know someone who found a cockroach (and saw it happen) in his food, since then I have visited only the store opposite to the KRA side (KRA are the people who do the catering on one side, the other side is run by BOB which is slightly less suspicious food, at least you can see it wasn't prepared more than 3 days ago. Although they do have a Halal section next to ham and pineapple pizza's... Thats just stupid and illegal (according to real and muslim law). But they don't have enough space to do it properly (or so they say). Anyway on with the actual day.
Next up is Media Industries. Nice simple lectures, on very complicated subjects. I like the lecturer despite his obvious right wing stance (he criticizes left wing parties pretty much on a 15 minute basis and has yet to make one critique about the right wing parties doing things exactly the same). Today its about Resource Dependancy Theory which is of course several classes of theories to do with the media and how bias and other such things are generated and how advertising, and a hole lot off other different things can influence the media at certain times and periods (like elections) and places (such as say north korea), and of course Unions (which he DIDN'T CRITIQUE! which is a very strange thing for such an person to do but of course he does mention that Unions are only good things in moderation (like say wine). Because of the whitehall system of government Unions take up about 50% of the government (not all on the labour side either). So obviously this guy feels it should be less than this, which is not entirely a bad thing to believe (but is something I disdain about if the Libs get back in government this time round.
Finally time comes for me to travel from building 14 to 11 ( http://www.canberra.edu.au/university/maps.html ) a rather long trip. And then go to my tute in this building. Its the same subject as I had for the lecture this morning ( for those that don't like to scroll if you do by now, this is Information Systems Design). but the tutor is great! he for a start is sarcastic! and gets my jokes! YAY! He also knows what he is doing which is more than can be said about most tutors I get. So I end the bad day on a good note.
I go home on the Bus on thursday, a reason to get angry again you would think? No. there are no more than 12 people on the bus when I get on and the population of the bus never gets grater. Brilliant. It takes less than 75 minutes to get home for once. And its play with Ada and homework time. YAY!
I then feed and walk her, and then eat my own food. Watch ER and finally go to bed and for an unknown reason dream about a small talking duck... I wonder why? Its h2g2 in my dreams now! NO! Its corrupting my mind! soon duck will be everywhere!
NO!
Anyway thats my Thursday. We have now done Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday over the 2 years I have been here on H2G2. Of course that since there in different years the previous Day in the Life of threads are useless and have different names (some quite cunning ones). Oh and two more things:
1. Hands up if you can count to 32 on one hand.
2. Enjoy your thursday.

I had a dream about cypress trees that invaded my backyard (which was not really my backyard) and walked around and laid the trees parallel on the ground. Then, the legs detached (they looked human until they turned into Spinoni) and turned into cypress wood-colored Spinoni. Then the dogs (in cypress form) came over and licked me. The alarm rang and I woke up. You watch ER?? Today is Friday. Friday night, really. I also asked today in math with the utmost sincerity if 91 was soluble in water. Talk about hopped up on steroids. I think that school sucks.

How is germa short for geek khama? Okay, you lose your geekiness if you explain which would mean that you don't have an explanation.

But to lose one's geekiness is such a great tragedy that I can sympathize with him for not wanting to risk it. Mine is pretty dear to me, and I don't even have that much, which could be why I value it so.

Geekiness is grand. I shall have to work and develop more.

You've got rather a lot allready. You could develop some more film-geekiness, and then there's the music-geekiness... Loads of potential. I've got a fair bit of music-, film-, computer-, and music-geekiness at the moment.

I've got the music-geekiness, the dog-geekiness, the plant-geekiness, and the nature-geekiness.

That sounds sufficient. I have music geekiness, engineering geekiness, and a very small amount of computer geekiness. It's good to be an all=around geek.
