The Second Rant Of This Month (there may be another one
Its that time of year again. It is time well celebrated the Birth of this guy named Jesus Christ by having a hole bunch of people we may or may not like, where stupid hats, eat far to much, wallow in self pity afterwards and above all get presents. Of course only very few of the "Christmas traditions" actually have anything to do with the birth of this Jesus guy, and of course other religions believe in other people who may or may not have been on this day. Now as an agnostic you may think I would be against this hole Christmas thing, yes? Well your wrong. I like Christmas. I do not however pretend I celebrate the Birth for this Jesus guy, no matter how pissed off that makes Christians, and other people who do (I am not going to assume that all people who believe in Jesus are Christians, that is what stupid people do). Anyway the point is that I celebrate Christmas for one major reason which is of course the fact that its nice. I actually find it really good to have all the family together, and I enjoy telling my Aunt Mural (I don't have one but thats what she called herself, if it was a her (I am not going to speculate at this stage)) that I don't support the Howard government in any way at all, and in-fact did NOT vote for them in the last election, and no I don't think they are doing a good job. I also enjoy the dog (well its actually 2 this year for the first time) I enjoy playing battleships, and Backgammon, and scrabble and all those other time wasting games (I will be getting diplomacy this year in my Logical Choice hour... or two). I in fact enjoy Christmas, and its a dam good tradition, even if it is over commercialized, and overstated by every shop, store, warehouse, and governmental building for a month before and a month after. You see the way we celebrate Christmas is slightly different. First of all, all presents are opened on the morning generally during or after breakfast. Also Lunch is the main meal (I call it lunch, but if it starts at 2 its on time, 3 or 4 if your lucky and we once started at 5 (and finished about 3 hours later) not dinner, and its cold meats (if you live in Australia thats what you would have too) salads, seafood, cheese and dessert, not necessarily in that order. a hole lot of snacks, milk produce, soft drink and other food stuffs as well. Not including the Alcohol which goes without saying. And thats how I like my Christmas day.
Enjoy Christmas no matter who, what, where, or if you don't enjoy the 25th anyway even if it does make you sick just to think about some idiot wearing a snow suit it 36°C temperatures. Remember Elves are put through slavery to bring you that present no one will own up to giving you.
