Hi there! And welcome to h2g2. smiley - disco My name is Solnushka and I am one of the volunteer ACEs, which basically means that I flit around greeting new researchers like yourself, spelling really badly in the process and helping out wherever I can.

Well, you know, I'm sure there are plenty of large blond ladies on site, but then, how would you know...? Best to pretend everyone is, but then that might be a bit too exciting... smiley - biggrin Are you Russian, btw?

Anyway, if you have any questions about this place, please do hit the reply button below and ask away. Go on, you know you want to...

Here are a couple of other links in the meantime, but feel free to ignore them if you have already found them. Or just ignore them smiley - winkeye :

Ask h2g2, where you can ask anything except 'What is the meaning of life, the universe and everything?' : <./>Askh2g2</.>

The h2g2 newspaper, The Post, which as well as being a hugely entertaining read also has pages of usful links, including one to all sorts of clubs, gangs, societies and cliques you can join here: </.>ThePost</.>

Well, and I don't know: you get this huge buzz of smug self congratulation doing voluntary stuff. Very good for your self image Links: If you want to link to somebody's personal space, you can just write their U number and it links automatically (like this: U138596 ). Likewise for any guide entry (which are A numbers). Some pages, like the ones I did above have their own names, rather than a number, so it's the name plus the tags: <./> Name (there shouldn't be and spaces there...) You can also link to threads. This is the long link to this thread: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/F97133?thread=205066&post=2320629#p2320629 But you can also do it like this: F97133?thread=205066 All automatic! Linking to stuff outside h2g2 is easy too, just paste in the url, and away you go. It gets a bit more clever when you want to ddo it in guide entries, and this I where you lose me, and I hand you on to someone more intelligent... There should be info here: <./>GuideML-Clinic but do not hesitate to ask questions, if I've been going on not quite about what you wanted.... You can either do that at these kind of help pages (there are volunteers for that too ;-) ) or here and I'll find the info!
