Today marks a first. This is the first time in memory that I have my Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving. I have truly impressed myself. On top of this, I'm genuinely pleased with my selections this year, especially for my staff.
My Thanksgiving dinner is also on schedule. I don't anticipate any rushing about tomorrow. In other words, I fear I've entered the Twilight Zone or been replaced by a pod or Stepford wife.
No, wait! There's still a massive mess of boxes and stuff to move around in order to find the guest bed. Whew! It's really me, after all.

Aaah, I remember watching the original version of Stepford Wives - scary, it was - especially since I was in my lower teens. I think.

I read the book first. It was scarier than the movie.

Any book by Ira Levin is scarier than any of the movies. He's a great writer.
Congrats, Hypatia. And have fun tomorrow.

I always have fun on Thanksgiving, Dmitri. Except that one time back in '99 when I sprained my ankle early in the morning, all of the relatives were mad at each other and I swore I'd never have a single one of them in my house again. Said resolution lasted until Christmas Eve.
I hope you and Elektra have a wonderful holiday.

When I was a kid, somebody always managed to have the flu on Thanksgiving. The year it was my mother went down in history...that's when they found out I could cook...
Thanks! We're hunkering down to be lazy.

I thought I had a place to go for the big dinner, up until 9:30 am Thursday. My hostess called and cancelled due to flu. I had also previously cancelled my science fiction convention weekend, because I just didn't feel strong enough to do it this year-- a lot of walking, and no one to hang out with at all the activities.
Whole weekend on my own, so I'm feeling thankful for the littlest things this year -- like still being among the breathing.
