Hmmm, good idea. I´ll have to find out which ethnic group in Germany uses cornmeal - Red Indians tend to be rather thin on the ground hereabouts.

Try Balkan places - the Romanikans eat mamaliga, and I think they make cornbread. (At least, they liked mine all right.)

Oh dear. Try an Italian grocery. They would have cornmeal for polenta. Good stuff, polenta. Then use it for cornbread.

Pit, I'm beginning to think it is the Germans, not the English, who can't cook. You don't have any proper ingredients to use.

No, it's not as finely ground. It has a crunchy texture.

Hmmm, that puts paid to asking Italians. I absoingly love polenta, but it´s differently ground. Same with porridge - no Scot would use the oatmeal available over here.
