there are many many who have heard thru the grapevine about h2g2 and are interested in joining. im forwarding mine thru email, as fast as i can. i ought to be on commission.lol.
the point of this is.... whats the chances of you doing some updated welcoming message to help the new people to get into find their friends.. something that appears on the opening page..know what i mean???

hi serenity...
we're starting to have more ACEs and GURUs now aware of the LDers space, so that's at least one way of guiding any new LDers to the right direction...
tho' i noticed today that a GURU plugged a related item on a not very busy LDers area... considering that we're advertised on the post and that the plain skin was released as a favour to the digiboox users _because_ of the LDers space it's a bit infuriating... the guy is a GURU for pete's sake...
anyway, for some good news... not only the LDers space main page is on the verge of getting a face lift [with loads of useful links added to it], but some more projects are also going to be launched anytime this week... as each thread linked to these projects will have the words LDers on their subject, the stats/info will help plug our space every time one of these thread is activated...
getting plugged on the front page would be great... especially as a lot of LDers do not always say in their screen name or/and introduction that they're from LD... which makes it difficult to spot them through the search facility...
but, all i can say at the mo' is that there will be quite a few things organised so that the Lders be made as comfortable as possible on h2g2...
we will announce them soon through the LDers space's journal and will plug them everywhere we can...
and suggestions will/are always welcome... the last two projects that will be launched any time this week come from some LDers' suggestions...
and we know from experience that there is always a solution to a problem when it comes to the LDers on h2g2...
that's why we're always open to suggestions, ideas etc; the more the better...
i'm not sure i'm making any sense... i'm having an headache since this morning [not that it would have made much difference]... well, that's one excuse anyway...
we will look into more ways in a near future... we've also have a suggestion box... the link is on one of the new projects... i will post you the number as soon as it's up and running...
talk later...

Tip for Digibox users
Dave M - touched by an angel once known as Caroline400 Posted Jan 13, 2003
Hi loup, I thought I'd use an existing thread rather than start a new one.
I have a tip for Digibox users. Perhaps you already know about it, but I'll tell you anyway. I have found it to be really useful.
If you click on a link to an outside web site. ie. Some LDers have a link on a drop down menu to google.
A blue error code appears, and when you click on OK. It enables the red navigation key on the key board, and you can then click on back. It takes you through previous pages you have visited. I find it can save lots of time. Also the `back` and `skip` keys on the keyboard are enabled too.
Perhaps you might like to put this tip on you Friends of Leisure District page.
I will put it in Luna's chat room as well, and also on my own page.
Thanks for everything you and manda have done.
Dave.
Tip for Digibox users
Loup Dargent Posted Jan 13, 2003
thanks dave...
all tips are important when it comes to the digibox...
that also reminds me that another LDer [detective armani] had a few tips somewhere as well... i will look into it... and hopefully we will have a list of useful tips ready for the digibox users soon...
talk soon...
thanks again...

hiya..
a belated happy new year to you too.
i think a lot of people are gonna be using this a lot more now..
yoome is rubbish(im being polite) and ld is finishing any day soon. they keep altering the finishing date, so if its anything like the yoome starting date, we shall still be using ld at easter..lol.
nice to here from you.
bye for now.xxx..h.

Loup Dargent Posted Jan 13, 2003
they closed down the library already... without any warning...
i tried yoome2 [well, it's free for a month...]... but found that the word "improved" was definitely misused...
can't post long messages... can't post long quotes either... which does limit what you can say...
even so we have a pals list, we don't know who is on line and where there are on the site...
we can't save the messages we've posted... so, if we get a reply days later we might not really remember what we said in the first place...
we can't keep many incoming messages as after around 10 we have to erase some to make some room for the pending ones...
i haven't tried the chat rooms and only posted the first few days in the forums... but, i'm definitely not impressed at all...

A quick question
Vampress (ex-LDer--Queen of The Dark Side - and PART time lurker only, due to busy vampiric duties) Posted Jan 21, 2003
Hi Loup
Just a quick question, I will be updating my page soon and wanted to know if you could give me the URL's or ID's for the 'Whos on line' link and the 'Search h2g2' link. Ive done some mooching around and cant seem to find the info anywhere.
Also would it be ok to put links on my page to the 'Friends of LD' and 'The Folders Arms' ?
Anyway thanks for all the help.
Love Vampress
p.s. checked out the link on your page to Sean Manchester, the vampire hunter, very interesting
A quick question
Loup Dargent Posted Jan 21, 2003
hi vampress...
re: the sean manchester link... yep... thought it was different than the usual theories about vampires... i/we hope to be able to get more links regarding subjects on the Unexplained etc... as one of the threads in the quotes section is about the Unexplained i kind of have the best of both worlds there...
re: other links... will post them to you when i'm back online this evening... and of course you're welcome to add links to some of our pages to your space... it helps make the LDers more visible and if a new LDer arrives on h2g2 and finds your space first they then got the necessairy info to get the help needed to enjoy the site as much as possible...
so definitely thanks you for that...
talk soon...

Hi Loup
No rush getting back with the info, whenever you have time .
Would love to see more links about the 'unexplained' etc, something that interests me greatly, also anything to do with the 'supernatural' etc.
Thanks for saying its ok to add the links, being an ex-LDer I know how confusing h2g2 can be to new users, especially people that havent used anything like this before. So I will be making my page as LD friendly as possible, any links you can give me to relevant sites that you think will benefit a new user would be greatly appreciated
I have asked kow this but may as well ask you too in case I dont speak to kow in the near future, I would like one of the LD logo's also on my page but dont know how to go about this? Have read that if a BLOB isnt in the library then you cant use it, so a little confused as to how I get hold of this particular BLOB code?
I appreciate your busy so just get back to me when you get a chance, and thanks for being so patient, you/manda and kow have been a great help.
Love Vampress
A quick question
Loup Dargent Posted Jan 21, 2003
hi vampress...
we should be able to make a list of links having to do with the Unexplained soon... twas my intention to do it for my page but as it's one of the topics in the quotes section it will be easier to share it with the LDers space... it will be also quicker as there will be more than one person working on it...
i'm having a short stay on h2g2 at the mo'... have to go offline again... but will be back during the evening...
we haven't managed to get the LD logo either... tho' as the LDers community is becoming more and more active on here we might mention it to the community artists... worth a try anyway...
at the moment we use a badge that we've made ourselves... the one that say "Friends of LeisureDistrict"... if you want you can ask manda to post the code to you... then it's a question of copying it on your page... a bit tedious without the "cut and paste" facility but that works ok that way too...
and yep we can provide you with links... no problem... the site is confusing even for people who are used to the net... so it's even worse for those who come straight from an interactive site...
there are more and more ACEs and GURUs aware of the situation now and readily guide them to us but there is still some room for improvement on that subject as well...
talk soon...
