I've three Pairs of Pants on at the moment.
With work it's a case of if this is Thursday it must be Natalie Portman. I've had to pack for a trip involving 23 stops, nine travel zones and temperatures ranging from +25 to +30ish. Perverse fish that I am, I prefer the cold to the heat, but Natalie shouldn't be ungrateful.
Yeah, she won't be.

I just dragged through about twelve pages to that Muse (Ben I mean, not Portman)
At least yours raised a laugh.
(re Portman, you saw Black Swan? Frightening Muse as a result, till next time in new guise. That's acting. Extraordinary)

"I only threw it in to show a bit of solidarity with the poor old mouldering pile of decay, over which people are now expending more energy in planning the appearance of an as-yet non-existent site than on actually writing anything."
Why bother though? There is oh-so-no return. Oh maybe one person says "yea that's really good, thanks" and hey presto it's in the EG with the "e.g." swapped for an "i.e." because the sub-editor thought that it was a good idea. And then?

True.
If you don't get the satisfaction out of writing it, then there's no point. Not here anyway.
I enjoy reading stuff here, though most of it was posted long ago. And I love writing.
For a long while, the two went together. But I think they belonged together only in my head, and in an arbitrary way.
It could be something though, couldn't it? The Stretcher, for example. What if we got hundreds participating in something like that?

The Stretcher was brilliant - you know that you could have been in with a shout. Surely there are "writing" sites where that sort of thing is encouraged?
But they won't be this one - yes I appreciate that reservation.
Here though you are likely only to be successful running a smiley conga competition, because that lowest common denominator option exists and prevails.
People generally are basically lazy. It's like entropy. So long as there is a Daily Mail it will have a popular circulation because it's easier than thinking.
Tea and cake, my great wide shakin donkey.

Sadly all true, except of course your bizarre concept of thermodynamics

When you reinvent h2g2 can you get rid of the emoticons?
