Please (UK people) get rid of him. He's the most snivvelingly annoying and weakly ineffective politician I have ever had the misfortune to have to listen to.
And we have Peter Costello (egregiously smug), Alexander Downer (grossly effeminate), Brendan Nelson (profoundly thick) and Tony Abbott (utterly pious).
Blair seems to have claimed oh-so hammily outright monopoly on all of these virtues.

My favourite persons C.V.
Ummm hullo my name is Tone sorry I’m a bit late I want to be a successful TV star or an unbelievable character actor like my old friend from Diarrheastan Jabathehut Bush or someone else famous but not Michael (I wanna hold my hand) Jackson.
According to Lord Gnome (and he should know) ever since Gordon (no 2 or is it 11) went to the dentist he can now literally lie through his teeth, I never liked him either.
During my time in office I have been able to bring the NHS to it’s knees, and now their IT people are doing it for me, how good am I?
I think my friend the Dokotela must have been having an off day…our very own JDubbya Hazard is a far worse snivellingly annoying politician but he does like cricket and that makes it difficult to write him off – unlike that girly boy team Abbot and Costello…I lost my son and now I have lost my marbles.
To the trough then with the lot of them.

And there you have it Doc.
Those who engage in politics undergo a character change.
The only way to advance/improve matters is to stir the pot at regular intervals.
Ancient Brit - A long suffering political sceptic.

If you think Blair was bad you should have seen the Major government in (in)action. I don't think that Blair is weak or ineffective at all, as it happens. He was prepared to face down his own backbenchers over a number of issues, not least the war in Iraq but also issues such as private involvement in the public sector. He did what he thought was right and to hell with unpopularity. As soon as the Europhobes in the Tory party started harrumphing, Major just rolled over.

Blair has his faults, that's for sure.
Still, comparing him (or any British politician) unfavourably with Australian ones is ridiculous.
Oz is a fine nation in many ways. Political integrity isn't one of them.

The F-Monkey is right. He is neither weak or ineffective. Withdrawn.
But no-one has questioned "snivvelingly annoying".

What about the 'porcine' bit ?
Is the Doc implying that things would be better with a sow in charge ?

More so that Blair the simpering thespian is getting less-convincing and more like a honey-glazed gammon with ... every ... pregnant ... pause ...

I can see how he can come across as snivellingly annoying. Nevertheless, unlike most politicians he has a hinterland. All political people tend to care about their own views and how they can impose them on others. Perhaps it's Blair's streak of self-doubt you're seeing?
As for Oz politics, I know too little about them to comment.
