The Gorilla Fart....hmm.

I am no stranger to the myriad varieties of fermented vegetable drinks available to the standard human, yet I have to admit no knowledge of Everclear, Jaegermeister, or even the intriguingly named 151 (which sounds like some sort of high octane fuel).
If someone could advise me what they are, I might be able to enjoy this righteous and profound moment with my kidneys that currently eludes me.
No drink has ever sounded this enticing.

Superb idea. One problem though - the heroic (and overworked) editorial team are going to have to supply some sort of page to post glossary contributions to or it'll get hopelessly messy.

Everclear - 190 proof grain alcohol, sold in the United States but illegal in some
states. Makes and excelent paint thinner or fire starter. A similar product is sold
under the brand name "Diesel" as in the fuel. Warning... do not ingest without
mixing it. It has been known to strip the lining from throats and stomaches... I am not kidding.
151 - as in Bacardi 151 proof rum. Tasty.
Jägermeister ("hunt master") is a German bitter liqueur that is a complex blend of
56 herbs, fruits and spices (35 proof). To me it taste like black licorice. Rumor has
it that it contains opium distillates... I find that hard to believe but it gives a different
buzz than anything I have ever drank.

Oooh! A saviour emerges from the woods. Thank you, kind sage, for your information.
Don't think I'll be across the pond for the Everclear any time soon, however.

Zebedee (and everybody else in this forum). If you want to seriously damage your internal soft bits, might I suggest the wonderful ABSINTHE forum elsewhere in this Guide? Included in this fine array of venomous beverages are a couple from my own stable, one of which is I believe almost indistinguishable from a famous but sadly fictional beverage from a well-known radio show/record/play/TV show.
Oh...could it be.....the PGGB?

I've been meaning to go through all the suggested recipes in H2G2 but it's a question of keeping my job. I've got a rather tasy concoction myself, but I'm not quite sure it's strong enough.
So I'm keeping it quiet while I refine the recipe.......

Just checking my own entries, and I find that following the ABSINTHE forum is not that interesting. Naturally I meant the similar, unrelated but much more intricate ABSINTHE vs TEQUILA forum. Just thought you'd like to know.

So, Zebedee, have you finished refining your recipe yet? :@)

Sadly my friend, they've been working me too hard to even spell alcohol. But it is on my "things-to-do before December 31st" list. After all, Millennium parties require a working PGGB. Maybe the definite and absolute end-of-discussion recipe should be judged by Mr Adams himself sometime before Christmas.......
