Help! Old Mac OS needed..

Heyulp!

I'm trying to get Classic running under Snow Leopard (on a MacBook) and am stuck. I either need 8.5/8/6, or something that will enable me to join together system 7.5.3 from here: http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Macintosh/System/Older_System/System_7.5_Version_7.5.3/

What I'm actually trying to do is this: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2073321&start=65&tstart=0 and I got as far as installing 10.4 (Tiger - the last OS to work with Classic mode) but couldn't install System 9 (the MacBook wouldn't startup from the CD ROM) so then I went to here: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20060509180914879 I got as far as installing SheepShaver, and managed to find a pre-extracted ROM file so got round that little hiccup (2 hours worth of hiccuping) but OS 9 does not work with SheepShank either - I get the old frozen screen. So then I tried to extract the files here http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Macintosh/System/Older_System/System_7.5_Version_7.5.3/ but cannot get them join up and I've tried everything that I can think of.

Any ideas, all you Mac gurus?

Thanks!

Woops, sorry for rogue cutting and pasting. I'm nearly blind at this stage.
