Thorpe Park...would that be "Pleasure Island", near Thorpe Park in Cleethorpes? If so, here's my opinion, for I was there just a couple of days ago.
£10.50 per head? Not a bad price for a theme park. Pleasure Island seems to have aged a bit from when I was there 5 years ago, but it's still good value.
White Knuckle Rides - several, although there are only 2 "true" roller-coasters. One is a rickety wooden thing similar to Blackpool's "Wild Mouse", and the other is a modern looping thing rather like the Corkscrew (only shorter and it goes in reverse too).
There is one of those sit-in-a-row-while-it-goes-in-a-vertical-circle-and-spins-upside-down-and-makes-you-violently-sick rides, a parascending ride, a waterslide and several good roundabout-type efforts.
Family Rides - there is a truly excellent small rollercoaster called the Mine Train. It allows kids as young as 5 on it and can still upset weak-stomached adults. It's a fabulous little mixture of thrill and accessibility.
Toss in the obligatory carousel, arcades, indoor play area and baby rides and Pleasure Island is a great place for families.
Unfortunately, teenage/adult-only groups will get bored inside 2 hours.

Nope, Thorpe Park is a water-themed park (though moving more into rollercoasters now), quite near to London. It has a new, ten-inversions rollercoaster.

Surprised there's no mention in this entry of Lightwater Valley, near Ripon, home of Europe's (and for a while the world's) longest rollercoaster, "The Ultimate". It's 2.3 kilometres long, and there is (or possibly was) a nine hole golf course within it, it's that big. Ride lasts over six minutes, which is aeons in rollercoaster time.

Also there's a theme park somewhere in Pembrokeshire that has, according to the American Association of Roller Coaster Enthusiasts (or something) one of the top ten best coasters in the WORLD, Megafobia.
