Originally from Ashington N/land mesell bonny lass. Enough of the accent , curious to know where in Ashington and which pubs or clubs frequented. Liked the Portland Hotel in my younger days as well as the Northern Social Club, but Morpeth pubs were the best

Hello TALPEDAE thank you your kind message. When I was a child living in Ashington from 1965-1971 I lived in Newbiggin Road (White Elephant/North Seaton Arms). I used to go to the South School. When I went back in 1995-2000 I sometimes went to the North Seaton Arms or Bubbles with my Dad. I never went to the pubs on my own but always with my Dad.

Small world with familiar names. I went to the North School and then the East. Occasionally went to the Elephant as I had a cousin who lived directly opposite, I also know Bubbles as is and when it was known as the cellar club. I left the town in 1978 and only return occasionally to visit friends and the odd relative left living.I'm grateful that you have stirred up a few memories. Thanks, regards Tal
