Freecycle is where you offer your unwanted items and that everything that is given away or taken away is done without any payment being received.

Here are the websites for the UK

http://www.uk.freecycle.org/

Have you heard of swap shops too?

I'm nervous with the first that I'd be bombarded by emails. I'm also confused as to how to join up etc. Too many words. smiley - run

I have not yet heard of Swap shops. When I get e-mail it is in digest form as if I have individual e-mails it slows my pc.

I don't know of any FreeCycle, but I recycle as much as poss, I also take the bus as I don't drive! I use energy bulbs everywhere.. But what gets my goat is you see something in a shop you get deodrant and hair gell why do we need all that wasted packaging outta plastic box! inside box more plastic and carboard. And why put bananas in plastic bags and seal them they have there own jackets, and many other items in supermarkets. All this wasted packerging smiley - sorry my spellings arful! smiley - run

Hey come back. The main thing is that we understood you. smiley - smiley I agree with you there is a lot of packaging perhaps we ought to leave it behind at the supermarket. I know how easily you could do this with plastic bags.

There are only a few places that recycle tetra pak products. I have just found out that when you put your recycle rubbish out in either the blue boxes, blue bags or bins you cannot put the tetra pak cartons in but have to go to special bins located around the country.

How frustrating. However, if its on the way to work. It maybe easy enough to drop them off.
