As a New Zealander, I feel Neil Finn's apprenticeship in one of the legendary Kiwi rock bands is too often overlooked. This is an attempt at adding a measure of remedial action.

Very good entry. Only thing I'd suggest is the conclusion's a little vague for those of us who might not be aware of what happened next (although the opening para alludes to it). How about:

'but Neil remained teamed with Paul to form Crowded House; the rest is history...'

I don't know nearly enough about this superb band. This entry does a lot to redress the balance smiley - smiley

I liked this a lot it's refreshing to read a n entry on a band that doesn't sound like the blurb off an album followed by a list of records! I was just wondering what reasons the Beeb gave for banning one of there records, even if they seem illogical it seems that there was soem controversy about that songa and it intregies me.

Hi Tam!

<<... "Six Months In A Leaky Boat". Aunty Beeb, however, for reasons best known to herself, banned the latter. >>

I seem to recall that it was pressure from Westminster re the Malvinas / Falklands war. There had been images (on TV etc) of British soldiers wallowing about in boats anchored off the islands, with no imminent end in sight.

How about mentioning the ENZSO collaborations?

The pedant strikes again ... *outlanndish*

Thanx for the comments.Yeah, I heard rumors that Maggie had a claw in the banning but decided not to politicise the article.

I don't know much about the ENZSO project but I will add a codicil somewhere to mention it.

Tam

OK, terrific idea. I've added the reference but it doesn't form a link. How do I go about it?

Tam.

Split Enz were dissolved in 1985 but Neil remained teamed with Paul; the rest, as they say, is history.
