Having currently been in a situation not entitely dissimiler to yours, I can relate. This isn't where to tell of that though. You're not really holding out for an ideal. Man wasn't allowed the choice in who we will love. If that were the case, I wouldn't be getting ready to celebrate the seventh anniversary of forced celibicy from the female form. When you find them nothing but being with them can bring light to your world. The only problem is that nine times out of ten, they don't love back. Nothing can hurt more, and nothing can heal the pain. Save finding the next one in a series of loves. That is the unsaid purpose in this world. To find that one you love, and pray they love back.
The other thing I noticed, you seem like a nice guy. Not many of us left. But when you see the way the world works, what's the point of being nice? If you're nice and do everything right, they leave for someone the opposite of you.
