My first kiss had allmost nothing to do with me.I was thirteen and about to break up from school for the summer holidays, when I heard through the grapevine that Emma liked ME.This was odd because i was never talked about at school, most people,I think, did'nt really know who I was and to be talked about in the same conversation as Emma was frankly the stuff of a madschoolboys dreams(It really was) Emma was one of the most popular and sought after girls in school and my intiall reaction was one of disbeleif, being fancied was something that happened to other people, this was all some kind of sick joke.It was'nt,she came and found me and asked if I wanted to meet her,on her estate that evening.I did.Emma had a twin sister called stacey,so i took along some very willing moral support called Jason Toomey(hello Jason)So the four of us ended up wandering around the housing estate where she lived trying to find a suitable venue for myself and Emma's kiss.Really I was stalling for time,we could have kissed anywhere,so we walked from small parks to alleyways to adventure playgrounds (romantic, eh?)all the while being pressured by my so called moral support and my beau's twin sister to "just do it"and to "hurry up" I put it off for over two hours.I remember just looking into her face and just shaking with the gravity of the situation, she just laughed a little and as she moved towards me I closed my eyes and we were kissing, with tounges and everything.Afterwards we just wandered around together and arranged to meet tommorow. It was the summer break by now and we met everyday that holiday and just kissed, never anything more, the kissing was enough.Jason phoned me a few days before we were to go back to school,"Emma don't want to go out with you nomore"he said,in his tactful way.I was gutted for the first time over a girl(but not for the last,by a country mile, as it has turned out)I'd gone out with the prettiest girl in school and know one knew anything about it apart from me,Jason,Emma and Stacey. We never spoke again me and Emma, mind you,we spoke very little when we were together. Its now eleven years later,I still live in the same place and so does she.Ocasionally I she her walking about, she has a child now.We never acknowledge each other and I wonder if she even remembers who I am.Its highly doubtfull she'd read this but if by some strage chance she does, I remeber you!

Nice of you to reply, that was my first posting.I've just re-read it and I can assure you I'm not melancholy really!just slightly whimsical at times.I saw you are a fan of the discworld series and hope you enjoy your marathon reading session. My favourite titles in the series are "The truth","Lords and Ladies"and"Masquerade" I hope you enjoy(ed) them as much as I did.

Wow, I don't think i've ever heard of anyone else who will admit that discworld is a great series. Masquerade was my first, so is therefore my favourite, but I'm just getting into the good Death and Susan ones.

Randomly decides to post if only to further the topic drift...
The discworld series is great. Small Gods is my favourite.
Even so - you wouldn't catch me kissing Granny Weatherwax.

yeah,I like the death ones, soulmusic 'specially,I like the way that as it has progressed the series addresses "real world" issuses more and more ie:The Truth targeting the media. Also is it not cool to like Terry Pratchett?I allways considered my self fairly groovy but I guess I can't be afterall!
