Have started writing a guide entry, only to find you already started one oops. Am a professional builder and would like to include hints and tips from the pros to help people to understand what they can and can't do. Any suggestions? Luck, happiness, and sausage-inna-bun.

That sounds like a good idea. I've learnt the hard way how big some jobs can become.

My best hints have always been:

Set objectives that are realistic
Break the project down into managable stages
Don't go off on a tangent half way through
Set way points for measuring progress.
